Brady's legal advocate was detained in south Wales on suspicion of preventing the burial of a body without lawful exercise.

I think that's why there were no more posts on this thread after that one, Nanadogsbody.

If this is the level the discussion is going to descend to, count me out.

POGS Sun 19-Aug-12 19:21:07

Sorry to appear a bit crude but given his tendancy for children, I think it is the wrong orrifice!!!!

I read an article by someone who spent time with Brady gathering information for a book. He said the two hours a day Brady is force-fed are the hightlight of his (Brady's) day and is the time when he does his correspondence. Apparently the liquid food is pumped through a drip in his nose.

Just retrieved this...it had disappeared.

Marelli Sun 19-Aug-12 16:48:46

The term 'force-fed' conjures up pictures of a person being held down whilst food is forced down them. Obviously this is not the case - he will have either been 'bolus' fed through a tube into his stomach or given the feed through his nose down into his stomach. I think the worst he'll have 'suffered' will have been having to have his hands out of the way while this is done.

I have just finished reading an article about this case in the Sunday Times.

Ian Brady has been force fed for 13 years, starting when he nearly succeeded in starving himself to death.

Recently he suffered a seizure which meant the force feeding could not be continued and he has once again got to starvation levels. I think that is why he informed Powell about the existence of a letter in his papers which are in a secure place.

Incidentally, whether or not you think someone should be an advocate for IB, she certainly seems to be suffering for it now. Seems although she informed the police of the letter a couple of weeks ago and was interviewed for over an hour and they weren't all that interested then, recently they raided her house, man-handled her and her teenage son, called her scum and removed all her computers and papers, took her out of her house in handcuffs and are now searching her house.

I think she has had to go into hiding.

Nanadogsbody Sun 19-Aug-12 16:18:35

I'm wondering how he is force fed? I can't imagine it's a case of "You'll sit here Brady until you eat if!" somehow. So is a feeding tube inserted into his nose or his mouth?

Whatever method is used it has been going on for 12 years now according to my paper and is against his wishes. So I count that as suffering....or at least I'd hate it!!!!! hmm

POGS Sun 19-Aug-12 16:03:25

The problem I have is why he is so called 'suffering'. ??

bikergran Sun 19-Aug-12 08:02:26

I agree with Nanadogsbody I am glad that he death penalty is not with us at the momemt..let this evil thing suffer for as long as poss...death would have come to easy for Brady! he would have been gone long ago.. and therefore he would not have suffered, unlike Kieths mum, yes, let him be force fed for as long as poss,, deny him! his rights..like he denied others of theirs,,I would gladly pay my taxes to keep him alive to make him suffer ! the longer the better.......

Nanadogsbody Sun 19-Aug-12 07:52:43

That's why I think he should continue to be force fed. He warns to die, so deny him what he wants most. That is the ultimate punishment.

ladybird9 Sun 19-Aug-12 07:01:12

Pogs, I couldn't agree with you more, why oh why has the evil lump been allowed to breath the air that we all breath when he and his evil partner MH indulged in such an unacceptable crime. It has been absolutely proven of the guilt to B & H and yet they have been allowed their lives, bring back hanging or the equivalent, have we the space on our planet for these monsters !!!!!!!!! Mrs Bennett was denied her child at the expense of Brady and Hindley. Who has suffered the most ????? !!!!!!!!! need we ask.

Actually, even if Brady did tell police where Keith is buried, having travelled over Saddleworth moor before and since the murders happened, it`s changed so much that I don`t think that even Brady could find the spot now. The M62 has been built across there, plus all the access roads, apart from still being eerie and forbidding up there, it has completely changed in appearance.

glassortwo Sat 18-Aug-12 23:03:48

I certainly wont watch it, the sooner he is forgotten the better, its just feeding his ego!

Anagram Sat 18-Aug-12 22:55:16

Some people have a morbid interest in him, Nanadogsbody....confused

Nanadogsbody Sat 18-Aug-12 22:54:00

What possible reason can there be for another Brady programme? We've heard all we ever want to about the evil, little b.....d.

POGS Sat 18-Aug-12 22:10:57

Re my comment before, the programme about Brady is on Channel 4 at 9.00p.m. I don't know if I want to watch it? Should we. Shouldn't we?

Totally agree with all the comments showing empathy for Winnie.

Anagram Sat 18-Aug-12 20:18:01

I was just thinking about that, petallus. Poor woman was nealy destroyed.

petallus Sat 18-Aug-12 20:06:01

Did anyone see the tele drama a few months ago about the advocate for Fred West?

AlisonMA Sat 18-Aug-12 19:30:45

I keep thinking about this advocate. She is either very brave or very stupid to take on such a role with this man. I think that when you take on this role you have to only think of the interests of your client and I am sure I could not do that in this case.

whenim64 Sat 18-Aug-12 19:21:41

If Brady passed documents to his advocate, they won't have been read by hospital workers, glamma. If she has taken a letter out of Ashworth, knowing it could contain a message for Winnie Johnson, she has been unprofessional. She couldn't be so naive as not to understand the implications of it.

glammanana Sat 18-Aug-12 19:09:50

I am very sad for the Johnson family at last the poor woman can be at peace with her child.
Brady such an evil evil man who will be relishing in the publicity again such a B.....d of a person I couldn't even class him as a man.
I was under the impression that any letters written in prison/secure hospital where read by the prison authorities prior to them leaving the premises or would he have differant treatment to other inmates.

whenim64 Sat 18-Aug-12 18:18:44

I feel very sad about Winnie Johnson. Her life was blighted all those years ago and now she has died without knowing where her son is buried.

I agree with nghtowl. It is a good job we have civilised laws, otherwise that would make for a brutal society.

merlotgran Sat 18-Aug-12 17:17:01

Apparently Winnie wasn't told about the letter. Thank God for that sad

glassortwo Sat 18-Aug-12 15:15:31

Very sad to hear of Winnie's death this morning sad
