We've been laughing at the telly presenter who stands in a field doing a piece to camera saying it's all been a hoax. Why can we not take our eyes of the hedge behind him?

Lions roar to communicate with other lions. A solitary lion doesn't roar.

How many people know what a lion's roar sounds like?

Psychologists can give you chapter and verse about eye-witness accuracy. Its quite bizarre what people can think they have seen or heard.

What about the roars? People heard it ROAR!!!

I do think its possible for people to genuinely think they've seen a 'big cat' as there usually isn't any way to gauge the scale at long distances , if its a genuine mistake I'm sure no one would blame them for reporting it just in case.
