A couple of months ago my OH and I were out walking during a warm summers evening on the South Downs, and were spellbound by coming across some badgers playing. We stood watching them for ages and felt so privileged. They were an absolute delight.
We now read that the NFU plans to start culling in a couple of areas in England, with the intention of eventually culling over 100,000, arguing that TB is endemic in the badger population. Surely if this argument is to have any logic then all the badgers in the UK must be culled?
An NFU representative on television cried crocodile tears over the slaughter of up to 26000 cattle because of Bovine TB. He omitted to mention that they would have ended up slaughtered anyway either as beef or because they were past their usefullness as milkers. And of course he also failed to mention the new born calves slaughtered, born to milkers whose milk is used for profit.
There is nothing to suggest that this cull will be of any use whatsoever, apart from reducing TB in any given area for a short time. TB is the enemy not the badger how wrong can you be!? Innoculation can be the only way, and for bagers given orally is almost certainly the best.
Does anyone remember a book published called "The silent Spring"? I get so miserable when I think what is happening to our world. Soon there won't be any ice for the Polar Bears., and so it goes on and on. We are all going to hell in a handcart it seems to me.
Please take time to go onto the site above and sign the epetition, on the government site.
