I guess the dinosaur brigade have been politicking away, getting themselves seats on synod, while the sane majority have not.
Twenty years of ordaining women priests and the sky does not appear to have fallen - but none of them can become bishops. I remember Anne Widdecome (sp?) (who on earth is that woman!!!) being interviewed and saying she was going to leave the Anglican church over it.
I reckon amend the religious category exemption from the sex discrimination act and let em sue! But can you imagine the ruffled feathers that would cause in other forms of religions (nearly all of them sexist to the core) so no government would do that.

How can just a few people overturn a decision that was agreed by the clergy themselves? It's totally bonkers! How demoralising for the women who are clearly capable of taking on such roles - how belittling and how discriminatory. God must be shedding tears over the sorry mess.
