A lovely man! He and the Dalai Lama are both inveterate gigglers and you just have to like them.

I never knew there were so many prize in the world! Good that Desmond Tutu has got this one. It "celebrates no particular faith tradition" but recognises efforts to "comprehend the many and diverse manifestations of the Divine".

He's brave, principled, funny....OK so he believes in God but nobody's perfect!! Seriously what a role model he is to believers and non- believers alike. I see the DM has done a big front page spread on him, praising his godliness, support for the poor and dispossessed and his impeccable left wing credentials....

He is a terrific chap and held in admiration by those of faith and those of none - we could do with a few more of him!

I really like Tutu. He takes a stand when others won't, he is a model of integrity and he pricks the pomposity balloons that others try to surround him with.

Yes, he seems to embody everything we would all like to see in religious leaders I think he is very brave too.

Absolutely. He is a lovely man whose life has been a model of dignity, struggle against injustice and unselfishness. And he's very funny too.
