An Afghan interpreter explains his situation to the BBC HERE.

Sadly anno my MP takes absolutely no notice of anything his constituents think if their view doesn't mirror his; he's one of Dave's millionaire, Eton cronies. Doesn't stop me from writing to him though; repeatedly. grin

Signed. It might also be worth writing to our MPs. I have a reply from mine today to an email I sent him about the plight of women in Afghanistan which is still the most dangerous place in the world to be a woman, despite the long campaign which has wasted the lives of hundreds of our troops.

Britain has a pretty poor record in looking after people who help - cf the Ghurkas.

Thanks for signing. flowers
I've heard many first hand accounts of the brave work that these interpreters are doing. They are mostly highly educated men who took the jobs because they love their country and believed that working with OUR troops would help in the fight against the Taliban. There are only about 450 of them - and even allowing for their families joining them in the UK this is not a great number. They all speak excellent English and I believe would make a valuable contribution to the UK if allowed to settle here. These men will suffer inevitable reprisals if they cannot be resettled. According to reports, 20 interpreters working with British troops in Afghanistan have already been killed in action and dozens have been injured. A further five are said to have been killed while off duty. Shame on this government for turning their backs on these men. angry

Thank you granny. I've signed. It is awful and it wouldn't be the first time that people have been abandoned to their fate. Let's hope public protest will prevent this from happening again.

I have signed, the UK has an absolute duty not to abandon these people.

Please sign and share this petition with as many people as possible if you believe that this country owes a debt of honour to these incredibly brave people.
