FB have decided that it's OK to permit a video of a beheading to be shown, "because people were sharing the video to condemn it." Isn't it obvious that you can condemn such barbaric practices without having to watch them? Now that it has been so widely publicised, isn't it also obvious that perverted people will want to watch it for all the wrong reasons?

Now come on anno, how on earth am I supposed to even know beheading is barbaric unless I watch it on fb? Hummm- perhaps I'd understand even better if I watched one in RL? Oh come on fb- nothing to do with advertising revenue is it?

Perhaps we should bring back hangings at Tyburn ? Sponsored by whom? Rope manufacturers , coffin makers? This makes me certain that Facebook is a bad influence in the world.

Does that mean there is going to be a DISLIKE button on FB? grin
Listening to news coverage of this earlier - FB struggling to make money after being sold at huge price. Thinking that they might have a role in news and current affairs - give me a break. Stick to to the baby pictures and photos of meandmyfriendsgettingpissed (posted in their thousands by students)
Currently it seems clogged up with beautiful thoughts and jokes.
All this nonsense fills up servers that use monumental amounts of electricity and kick out loads of heat. Sobering thought.
There was a Twitter campaign a few months ago to stop FB allowing gender-hate postings - about rape and violence against women. Companies cannot control the images that their adverts pop up next to. Companies like Dove not very happy to be put in the spotlight over this.
