Car covered in sand.

I have just read this article in the DM and find it extremely strange. When I went out to work this morning I noticed that my car was covered in a brown sand/dust. I do live close to the sea (North East coast) but have never experienced anything like this.

Had a public health warning here in West Midlands as apparently this area is especially badly affected. Those with health problems warned not to exercise outside.
