Political compass

Someone posted a link to a different political compass quiz a while ago. I came across this one on Twitter just now and tried it. I got exactly the same result as last time and ended up bang in the middle of the green (bottom left) quadrant as a "left libertarian".

You?

Similar. Good to know I'm close to Gandhi and Mandela and diametrically opposite Thatcher. No surprise there then!

Ana Mon 05-May-14 14:46:47

I, apparently, am a cross between the Dalai Lama and Gandhi...hmm

Bet you weren't expecting that, were you? grin

HollyDaze Mon 05-May-14 15:05:33

I was also shown as being slightly to the left of the Dalai Lama as well - I'm a bit surprised as I always thought I was a bit more right wing than that confused

LL smile

ffinnochio Mon 05-May-14 15:21:45

Left-libertarian. No surprises.

Aka Mon 05-May-14 15:31:53

In the green square.

Ariadne Mon 05-May-14 16:06:56

Social libertarian..

Galen Mon 05-May-14 16:27:36

Green

Agus Mon 05-May-14 16:35:43

Green. Hi, Galen

annodomini Mon 05-May-14 16:58:09

A long way to the left of the Dalai Lama; slightly disturbed to see Ed Milliband on the authoritarian right!

Iam64 Mon 05-May-14 18:13:29

I'm a left libertarian - what a surprise smile

FlicketyB Tue 06-May-14 06:45:39

Me too

baubles Tue 06-May-14 06:58:45

Left libertarian also but I notice that in the International Chart there are no right libertarians. Is that an oxymoron?

MiceElf Tue 06-May-14 07:13:08

It was no surprise to find MiceElf in the bottom left hand corner, but fun to find HymnsElf very slightly further up and very slightly further right (albeit still nearly in the bottom left hand quadrant).

But what was really fascinating was looking at the positions of the UK political parties on the quadrant. In England the only party which has some approximation to where I am is the Green Party, and the catastrophic move to the authoritarian right by all the other parties is profoundly depressing.

NfkDumpling Tue 06-May-14 07:19:30

Ghandi again. Perhaps all grans are green Ghandhis? We grow into it. Is anyone doing a study?

Lilygran Tue 06-May-14 08:04:58

Is it only libertarians who are doing this questionnaire? Or are the authoritarians lying low? I think of myself as more than a bit given to laying down the law but I always come out in the equivalent of the middle of the green quadrant. Are there particular questions that trigger particular assessments? Does it mean anything? Is it just a bit of fun? Why do I always waste my time on these things?

Galen Tue 06-May-14 08:38:14

Actually only just into thr green, almost the top row and also about 4 in from centre on midline.

Galen Tue 06-May-14 08:48:01

Somewhere between Francoise Hollande and the Dalai Llama.

Iam64 Tue 06-May-14 08:57:39

Hi there Galen - good to see you grin

tiggypiro Tue 06-May-14 09:01:33

Very near to the Dalai Llama

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 06-May-14 09:06:16

I gave up because it was such a stupid, and biased in itself, quiz. So many of the questions could not be answered with either 'agree' or disagree' - there were 'ifs' and 'buts' involved.

Time wasting, over simplistic, rubbish.

Grandmanorm Tue 06-May-14 09:40:22

Bummer, I was about to double check what I was and accidentally clicked the cross, so lost the page and have to go back to the beginning which I am not prepared to do.
I am green towards the top right.
Jingle I always look on these things as fun and as I do have the time to do them, I do them. Doesn't mean I necessarily believe what I am told I am!!!

Oldgreymare Tue 06-May-14 09:51:38

Green too, and left of Ghandi, now to get on with life!

Brendawymms Tue 06-May-14 12:56:50

I'm a left libertarian. In the green.
