I walked over it in 2008 and there were just a few. Last year it sparkled and glowed like a giant exotic jewel in the sunshine, this photo doesn't do it any justice at all. I was amazed and thought how beautiful it looked. Although the bridges are architecturally graceful their structure is infilled by large sheets of wire mesh fencing, which is not at all beautiful.
I also rather like the affirmation of life aspect - lovers and tourists leaving their mark. However, the weight is all just too much for those mesh panels and the handrails and balustrades supporting them. I think there are going to be some very sad people all over the world.

Can you imagine if all the locks are put on just one side...
