Hello!

The local council are threatening to knock down my tower block and I am doing everything in my power to stop them!

A signature would mean a lot:

Thank you!

Sorry if this seems unsympathetic but I cannot imagine I am the only person unwilling to sign a petition for sonething I know nothing about. Perhaps you could explain the situation on the forum?

Ana Mon 17-Nov-14 17:45:44

Well, it is explained briefly if you click on the link, Soutra.

If it matters that much to OP surely an introduction isn't too much to ask? Or are we just epetition fodder?

Ana Mon 17-Nov-14 17:54:05

Yes, I think that's the general idea.

I agree Soutra

I guess maybe the OP wanted to be short & to the point.

After clicking on the link, tho, we don't know if the council has a good reason for wanting to demolish this block - maybe it's becoming unsound.

Well I won't be signing a petition regarding some unknown subject for some stranger who seems to have "joined" Gransnet simply to get signatures. Almost constitutes spam IMO.

The link says that residents will be re-housed fifty miles away - that seems a very long distance. How would people get to work or school etc?

Ana Mon 17-Nov-14 18:39:28

I can't find anything about it on the internet...hmm

I heard something on the radio the other day about some tower blocks in London ? Kensington & Chelsea (but could be wrong) which the council wanted to demolish and sell the land for private development.

Is that the one, gillian ?

Like others, I'm not going to sign anything I know nothing about.

Read the link. Lots of assertions but no evidence to prove them.

I'm a bit wary of signing something I know nothing about, by a poster whose name I don't recall seeing previously.
Sorry. But good luck anyway.
