Like snail mail?
I can think of a few 'post tortoises', what a wonderful phrase!
The public school system has a lot to answer for!
This was a letter sent to the local free paper (edited)
I overheard a conversation in a local nursing home last week. An elderly gentleman was referring to local politicians as 'post tortoises' politicians.
Not being familiar with the phrase I asked for an explanation.
"When your driving down the road and you see a post with a tortoises on top, that's a post tortoise" I asked for a further explanation.
"You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't know what to do whilst he's up there. He's elevated beyond his ability and function and you just wonder what kind of idiot put him there to begin with." love it !
