Wouldn't affect how I vote but it's interesting to see who is a supporter of a party, and which party draws a particular person

POGS Thu 07-May-15 12:51:51

Sometimes it can prove to be a contentious endorsement though and can make a party look pretty stupid when they promote some celebrities who can be and will be scrutinized by the media/public and be found lacking.

Yes - it's often a real poisoned chalice and it's obvious that the celebs involved will be scrutinised. It sort of seems quite old fashioned in a way - I wish they'd stop doing it. But I still read the lists !

kittylester Thu 07-May-15 16:21:51

Most people on those lists are where I would have put them anyway and have no influence on the way I would vote.

rosequartz Thu 07-May-15 16:56:19

Well now, Richard Wilson supports Labour (not SNP? shock) and I liked One Foot in the Grave so perhaps I should vote Labour
On the other hand he was a grumpy old git in that so perhaps I should vote Conservative.
But then again I can't decide so perhaps it should be Lib Dem confused.
What would Annette Crosbie do?

Um, er, oh dear, this is so hard to decide.

I don't know what difference it makes as we don't know these people, only the public personae they wish to portray.

I saw a picture today of Rod Stewart at Nigel Farage's brother's wedding. Not that that means he's a UKIP supporter, just saying.

Celebs should keep their politics to themselves!

durhamjen Fri 08-May-15 00:36:00

Why, PPP?
Just because it's a secret vote doesn't mean we have to keep it secret. It just means nobody has a right to know but we can tell them if we want to.

Anniebach Fri 08-May-15 16:16:01

Everyone has the right to say which party they support

soontobe Fri 08-May-15 17:32:54

I get the impression, that this time around at least, the celebs had little or no sway whatsoever.

Russell Brand, Al Murray. Even Esther McVey? Though I dont really know what happened there.
