There is always someone you can vote against, even if there is nobody you can vote for.

FarNorth Mon 11-May-15 09:15:29

If they didn't turn out then they are not just non SNP voters. They are also non Labour voters, non Conservative voters etc.

There's always a point to voting, even if it's only to entitle you to moan afterwards.

I know, Bags. Was wondering if non SNP voters in our constituency feel/felt there wasn't much point as we are in the very heartland of the SNP. This was Alex Salmond's seat the last time he stood for Westminster.

Have been enjoying 'post mortem' on Election.I see that after all party leaders showed a united front by holding hands with their wives on way to vote, Nick Clegg and his wife were not so united on way to hear result. ( petty I know ) but amused me......

Gosh, katek, 53% is very low for a general election.

FarNorth Fri 08-May-15 06:06:34

Heard 2 young women yesterday saying they wouldn't be voting as they don't understand politics and don't have an opinion on it.
It does annoy me that some people don't vote but if they genuinely have no opinion and no idea who to support then I suppose there's no point in them just taking a guess.

Aaahh, I think I understand now! [Bit slow on the uptake!]....................but only think ...............

Voted by post ages ago. DD2 asked me if I was watching the election and told her Id forgotten it was today ( had horrendous day in work, home late, only interested in sitting down on the sofa with my tea!) DD will be up for hours lapping it up. I do think it's important to vote though women made many sacrifices so we could.

Katek Thu 07-May-15 23:23:06

Just back from closing the village hall. We had 53.4% turnout, way down on referendum and few % less than last general election. Don't think it will affect the outcome though. Eck the fish is standing in neighbouring constituency, wonder what will happen there.

Elegran Thu 07-May-15 22:35:39

I'm off to bed. Staying up all night won't alter the result, we'll know soon enough. Night all. moon

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 07-May-15 22:34:28

(lovely new name btw - not. Real asset to the forums. hmm)

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 07-May-15 22:29:04

Oh for God's sake!!! Watch the bloody exit polls. Much more interesting.

Ana Thu 07-May-15 22:19:19

Absolutely right, Elegran.

Elegran Thu 07-May-15 22:14:08

The horse is dead, G2. Continuing to flog it is overkill, and particularly overkill to go into Soop's Kitchen to flog it. That is sanctuary.

Bogoff Thu 07-May-15 22:13:33

Pheonix, PM'd you.

Anne58 Thu 07-May-15 21:59:11

PS And also why.

Thanks.

ninathenana Thu 07-May-15 21:58:46

grin grin

Anne58 Thu 07-May-15 21:58:19

What? Where? How?

I seem to be a bit behind here? (Well if you're talking body shapes, more than a bit behind, in fact I seem to have become all bottom and tummy)

But can someone please enlighten me as to who is who etc?

ninathenana Thu 07-May-15 21:55:25

Oh, I didn't know pompa had stormed off !

Ana Thu 07-May-15 21:48:21

Oh, give it a rest GT.

GrannyTwice Thu 07-May-15 21:45:49

Try Mumsnet - they'll really sort you out.

GrannyTwice Thu 07-May-15 21:44:56

But next time you feel a sexist joke coming on about an able bright intelligent woman politician that also makes fun of violence towards women perhaps you could go and post it somewhere more appropriate - or not at all?

GrannyTwice Thu 07-May-15 21:42:47

Not so much hints as great big flashing illuminated signs. I'd like to think you meant it about being more sensitive .... Time will tell.

merlotgran Thu 07-May-15 21:37:09

I have to say with a huge grin that out of all the 'returns' Pompa Bogoff's has been the most obvious right from the start.

You should make a spoof movie about an undercover cop. grin

Ana Thu 07-May-15 21:32:05

Well, you're very welcome as far as I'm concerned, Bogoff.
There is no law against returning under a different name, after all...wink
