Thought I would post this up for those of us who are hoping for the stamina to stay up!

POGS Fri 08-May-15 01:26:43

George Galloway and a few other MP's have a good old time on Russia Today!

soontobe Fri 08-May-15 01:25:12

It is all a bit astounding really isnt it? I dont get it all really, even though I did guess some of it.

rubylady. Biased towards the tories?

GrannyTwice Fri 08-May-15 01:24:50

Ruby - in what way? I thought they were sounding very pleased and excited but I have put that down to my current mood

soontobe Fri 08-May-15 01:22:23

Yes. I think. I feel I should know more, but I dont think that I do.

GrannyTwice Fri 08-May-15 01:22:03

Prof Curtess (Curtis ?) saying his exit poll looking accurate - I fear he is right. He's also just said they might get overall majority.

rubylady Fri 08-May-15 01:21:44

Is it me or are these presenters sounding biased? Currently on BBC1.

GrannyTwice Fri 08-May-15 01:19:49

I don't know but is the main difference in the polls is that the opinion polls are about voting intention and the exit polls actually ask people as they come out of the polling station so they have actually voted

soontobe Fri 08-May-15 01:12:51

Soem person or other, near the beginning of the bbc broadcast, said that the exit polls said that Labour would do well in the North East[or something like that].

durhamjen Fri 08-May-15 01:11:43

Sounds like George Galloway is out as well. What will he do now?

Now looking back at other posts on this thread.

People care about the NHS, but it is not the only care.
The economy, immigration, education[though perhaps not so much this time around], are all important issues to, to people in their daily lives.

People are scared, quite frankly, of labours long record on the economy.
Labour never seem to home in on it, and dont seem to much care.

Maggiemaybe Fri 08-May-15 01:11:18

I'm still up. Perched on the edge of a bed in a hotel room with the TV volume down low! Hoping the exit polls are wrong and that the rumour re Galloway is correct. To my mind, the Labour vote is holding up well in the North of England.

soontobe Fri 08-May-15 01:05:26

I dont think that NF will win.
I too am concerned about the NHS.
I too dont get how 11 polls or whatever it was, can be so out from an exit poll.

soontobe Fri 08-May-15 01:02:33

Am still up. Didnt intend to be, but been out and ended up staying and watching from the exit poll onwards.
We will see what transpires, but I am not at all surprised by the UKIP vote so far, or the collapse particularly of the Lib Dems.
[apparently in Germany, whichever party is the minority never fares well when the next election comes around].

I asked, probably on another thread about who the "others" are. I still didnt get a full answer from the people where I was, so will google at some point.
I think, for what is worth, and I may well be wrong, that the northerm irish vote is going to come into play. We shall see.

GrannyTwice Fri 08-May-15 01:01:41

Looks like NF may not have won - <another straw clutched>

GrannyTwice Fri 08-May-15 01:00:30

I don't think we'll recognise the NHS will we in 5 years time? People still don't understand what TTIP really means - I know dj got stick for 'banging on' about it but gosh she was so right and one day when it's too late we'll all realise that

durhamjen Fri 08-May-15 00:47:57

" 5. This would also be the biggest failure of the British polling industry in its history.

Polls over the past 24 hours were remarkably similar in predicting an effectively tied race between Labour and the Conservatives. The exit poll if accurate, would be well beyond any possible margin of error in the polls. Could the entire polling industry have got it so massively wrong? If so why and how? We'll find out soon enough as the results come in."

durhamjen Fri 08-May-15 00:43:32

Agreed, grannyactivist. That's the most important thing to me, and I cannot believe that the majority of the electorate do not care about the NHS.

grannyactivist Fri 08-May-15 00:37:51

If the Conservatives form a government then the NHS as we know it is finished; TTIP will ensure that corporate greed bleeds every penny of profit from it. sad

Ana Fri 08-May-15 00:18:19

She does indeed.

GrannyTwice Fri 08-May-15 00:15:49

I think the shock is still palpable on the faces of the various Labour MPs being interviewed - Yvette looks really down

GrannyTwice Fri 08-May-15 00:14:19

Whitewave - yes shock wearing off here as well but am feeling resigned. Although I kept thinking 1992 I did think it would be nearly even with Tories maybe a handful of seats ahead. IT will be interesting now to see how LDs do and UKIP as well

whitewave Fri 08-May-15 00:12:10

Yes I am not sorry about DA, he was always on making excuses for the ghastly things the Tories did, in effect he was their fall guy and is now paying for it.

GrannyTwice Fri 08-May-15 00:09:46

Ana - you mean about Danny Boy? I was just repeating what the BBC said. I thought myself he would have a strong personal vote that would make him safe although personally I'd like to see him go

whitewave Fri 08-May-15 00:09:21

Beginning to feel a bit better after the initial shock. DC still hasn't a majority so hopefully the exit polls are even a bit wrong and the picture begins to look more cheerful

Ana Fri 08-May-15 00:05:03

Dream on, GT...
