Terror attacks in France and Tunisia/now

What a scary time we live in.

One man beheaded this morning in France, now at least 19 people killed in attacks on 'possibly' 2 hotels in Sousse, Tunisia. That is what is being reported at the moment, they are believed to be tourists.

It must be terrifying for those on holiday being told to barricade themselves in their rooms.

Just awful.

That does actually make sense durhamjen. She explained it with, "Asked to come up with an example of behaviour that might be a cause for concern, she said: "Sadly, Isis are extremely intolerant of homosexuality."

durhamjen Tue 30-Jun-15 19:00:41

However, jingl, she voted against samesex marriage twice, so should she be investigating herself?

Ana Tue 30-Jun-15 19:03:29

Being against same sex marriage is not the same as being intolerant of homosexuality.

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 30-Jun-15 19:04:51

I don't think her own personal persuasions should come into it. She's doing her job. And being against gay marriage doesn't make her homophobic.

Anniebach Tue 30-Jun-15 19:05:23

Good grief, has the woman never the views of school children on homosexuality . Many schools have a no bullying policy based on anti gay behaviour

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 30-Jun-15 19:09:14

Sigh! hmm She means, if a child suddenly becomes homophobic, that child may have been got at by ISIL. Just one of many signs to watch out for.

Anya Tue 30-Jun-15 19:12:37

Anniebach I find your support of Sharia if 'it will be the choice of the people' absolutely terrifying. I doubt you know what Sharia Law entails.

Do you really accept that a married victim of rape can be stoned to death for adultery?

durhamjen Tue 30-Jun-15 19:13:28

"The vocal or active opposition to fundamental British values, including democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and the mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs. We also regard calls for the death of members of our armed forces as extremist."

The government definition of extremism.

Any extremists on Gransnet?

Anya, I am aware of the brutality, I did not support Shari law taking the place of British law, surely it's common sense, it can only happen if the majority want it, this is a fact , I think you are just arguing because you enjoy it. Little wonder I have no fear of shari law becoming the law of this country with the fears expressed here

Anniebach Tue 30-Jun-15 19:26:08

Not bothering to reply to you jingle so sigh away, I can't be bothered with smart arses who patronise, offend and insult

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 30-Jun-15 19:30:34

God, I'm heart-broken.

Ana Tue 30-Jun-15 19:32:23

Can't find any reference to 'Shari law' on the internet.

And I note your link refers to 'Sharia law' dj.

Anya Tue 30-Jun-15 19:40:52

Actually AB I think you are being naive. I am not arguing because 'I enjoy it'. I do enjoy an intellectually stimulating duscussions but not with those who simply call others rude names.

Anya Tue 30-Jun-15 19:42:38

Sharia Law

Anya Tue 30-Jun-15 19:47:09

Ana sorry, misunderstood. I hadn't noticed the reference to shari law, blame the heat and other agitations.

Again, the numbers are startling. I had no idea this was happening on such a scale.

petra Tue 30-Jun-15 19:53:50

Anniebach. I have no fear of sharia law, and it certainly won't happen in my lifetime or my DGC. and that's all I care about.
If/ when it did, it will come through numbers ( read breeding)
This is from an Islamic website.
Marry women who are loving and PROLIFIC in giving birth, as I shall out number the other prophets (nation) through you.

I think that most of us on this thread are more concerned with the British victims killed brutally by Muslim extremists, than the sensibilities of British muslims, who actually enjoy a good standard of life here.I am tired of hearing about ' how we must have driven young men and women to join ISIS' on this forum, it's total tosh.

Ana Tue 30-Jun-15 19:57:43

I agree, roses, as I've said before.

Anniebach Tue 30-Jun-15 20:01:21

Petra, I could quote Christian scriptures which say the opposite ,

durhamjen Tue 30-Jun-15 20:02:10

Teachers have to spot radicalised children from tomorrow.

I'm quite surprised that the rise of ISIS hasn't been blamed on 'this government', actually...although I'm sure someone will come up with a link 'proving' just that!

soontobe Tue 30-Jun-15 20:14:03

I read your link durhamjen. For what it is worth, I think that you respect me for now, so I will read your links [well, most of them!].

soontobe Tue 30-Jun-15 20:18:24

Good, re teachers.
The teacher I saw on the news[dont know which news channel, I watch different ones], said that teachers were not spies, so she was against doing it. Glad it is becoming the law.
