Turkey or Turkish?

Apparently Turkish babies are now called "Turkey babies", poor chucks. The BBC is getting sloppy.

I realise it may not be a Turkish child and that may have been why the report used "Turkey baby" but really!... I'm sure there were other ways the header could have been arranged. Seems the art of producing good story headers is lost.

Unless this playing with language is the new cool hmm

As for the parents not noticing thr baby floating off!!! shock

I think that is appalling. Turkey babies are called chicks, I think. Btw the BBC isn't getting sloppy; it's getting sloppier.

Poor little thing. Surely the person who wrote the headline realised what they'd done. They say the pen is mightier than the sword. No sword could change the fact that the little girl is human but words have changed her into a turkey.

I think what is missing is the punctuation. "Turkey. Baby rescued after floating out to sea", would be better. I suppose that punctuation is difficult in headlines.
