Margaret Thatcher came to power in 1979, that's over 30 years ago I think. ?.

This question should separate the men from the boys, as the saying goes.

Right people, "gloves off".

On your marks, get set, go.....................

I love crumpets!

Alea Thu 27-Aug-15 22:01:42

Have you seen that video on Facebook with Rafa Nadal playing strip tennis?
Thinking tennis fan's crumpet, he is.

Anya Thu 27-Aug-15 21:48:36

Singles or doubles Alea?

Ana Thu 27-Aug-15 21:39:08

smile

Anniebach Thu 27-Aug-15 21:37:48

I don't bite Ana, neither do I get excited waiting for posts, I post on a thread I am interested in, that's it

Alea Thu 27-Aug-15 21:30:43

Anyone for Dennis?

Ana Thu 27-Aug-15 21:27:25

The floodgates are now officially open...hmm

Ana Thu 27-Aug-15 21:26:56

I knew someone would bite eventually!

Anniebach Thu 27-Aug-15 21:24:19

Disliked her intensely , felt sorry for her when she left Downing Street, not dorry to see the back of her but dorry she had been stabbed in the back, I felt no cause to rejoice when she died, to die in a hotel suite with no family with you seems so lonely . She did such harm to this country and encouraged the greed is good anthem of the eighties Not just encouraged but led it , she was without any empathy.

Nelliemoser Thu 27-Aug-15 21:23:39

Wot Merlot said!

MiniMouse Thu 27-Aug-15 21:02:13

Perhaps not plimsolls - how about Dennis shoes when she was on court?

Ana Thu 27-Aug-15 19:30:01

I'm sure Maggie would never have countenanced wearing plimsolls! Michael Foot, on the other hand...

Alea Thu 27-Aug-15 19:24:13

A case of Moggie ,Moggie, Moggie, out, out, out ?

rosequartz Thu 27-Aug-15 19:12:44

I won't go there ( to the other thread, not thoughts on MT)
I don't have a cat phobia exactly but loathe them coming into my garden killing birds and pooing everywhere

My DC seem to love them .....

More of a dog lover myself, however DDs have dogs as well smile

Oh !! Wrong thread!!

I didn't realise Mrs T wore plimsolls, I had her down as more of a Vans person myself wink

MiniMouse Thu 27-Aug-15 19:04:00

Is there a virtual room where Questiontime and our Other Friend could go and discuss Mrs T's love of plimsolls?

Ana Thu 27-Aug-15 18:36:28

No, you haven't missed much rosequartz, it isn't really a contentious thread - unless you have a cat phobia, of course.

trisher Thu 27-Aug-15 18:33:39

I try not to-think of her that is!

rosequartz Thu 27-Aug-15 18:30:33

I've been out all day.

Just as well perhaps.

TerriBull Thu 27-Aug-15 18:28:36

Margaret Thatcher has been discussed adinfinitum on Gransnet, at great length, particularly after her death. She divides opinion, this we all know, you will find posters are entrenched in those feelings. To have yet another thread about MT is beyond monotonous.

Ana Thu 27-Aug-15 18:26:25

The other Contentious Thread, rosequartz! grin

rosequartz Thu 27-Aug-15 18:25:01

kittens ?? confused

I can't remember, it's been a busy day

Alea Thu 27-Aug-15 18:13:58

Which brings us neatly round to kittens again rosequartz! smile

rosequartz Thu 27-Aug-15 18:10:15

She wore those blouses with pussy-cat bows and they became very popular at the time, I remember.

I had one, it was white with small rust-coloured spots all over it, which went very nicely with my rust-coloured suit.
From C&A as far as I remember.

I did notice that those blouses with pussy-cat bows are all the rage again now.

Jane10 Thu 27-Aug-15 17:39:47

Alea 'bunfight'? That's a tea party where I come from. confused

nigglynellie Thu 27-Aug-15 17:33:15

Certainly not joining in this discussion!
