I know voting is a private thing, but im wondering if anybody on this site voted for Cameron in May. ?...

And if so, did those who voted for Cameron realise that both he and Osborne are continuing what Thatcher started over 30 years ago, that of rolling back the State and getting rid of all the social improvements brought in by a Socialist Labour Government after WW2.....This is an ideological agenda of the Tory's. They despise the State and everything attached to it.

However typos such as my superfluous letter in "isn't it" blush I shall blame on my Varifocals!!

Of course people on this site voted for the Conservatives, as did those for the Lib Dems and Labour, Greens, UKIP etc.Gnett is just a forum made up of all sorts, just like the rest of the country. While you can start your own threads at any time, don't expect a lot of us to agree with you. Some will, and some won't.

QT, if you are a genuine poster, then post things on other subjects too.

TerriBull Sat 29-Aug-15 13:59:26

I think there was a GN questionnaire a while back which some completed on how they voted, it was a pretty even split between the two main parties, if I remember rightly.

There were of course a lot of post election threads after the event when members discussed their reasons for voting, so this new one is somewhat passe now, as indeed is the one initiated requesting thoughts and opinions about Thatcher, which again has been discussed and picked over until there's very little to add.

QT - I'm wondering if you previously posted under the name of "Ivanhoe", he commented in a similar vein to you and his posts always referred back to the Thatcher era. Like him you also seem to be on a mission. I believe he eventually declared he was a Labour Party activist, I think he even stated he had once stood for election somewhere.

You mean the same as Anya, Terribull?

Anniebach Sat 29-Aug-15 14:19:36

Perhaps the poster isn't interested in other threads

TerriBull Sat 29-Aug-15 14:19:40

Do I? confused

Ana Sat 29-Aug-15 14:19:53

I've just looked back at an old 'Ivanhoe' thread, Terribull, and although his political stance is very similar to QT's he always spelled 'tories' correctly.

Ana Sat 29-Aug-15 14:21:13

So probably not one and the same. I think QT may well have posted ass Parliament100 at one time though...

Ana Sat 29-Aug-15 14:21:47

as, not ass!

TerriBull Sat 29-Aug-15 14:23:47

Ah Ana, maybe that's deliberate to throw us of the scent!

TerriBull Sat 29-Aug-15 14:25:44

Yes I see what you mean now DJ - I didn't understand your point initially.

rosequartz Sat 29-Aug-15 14:50:56

anniebach I don't think Questiontime is a genuine poster, just a wind-up merchant as DH would say.

Therefore I feel justified in giving like for like smile

Do you mean it's the duty of pedants always to draw attention to errors of grammar and spelling?
What fun!

Is it compulsory to do that on Gransnet, even if one's only interest in life is, say, the cultivation of chrysanthemums?

Re the OP :
No I didn't. Some on Gransnet did. Yes, I know.

rosequartz Sat 29-Aug-15 14:54:38

Of course, if I make a spelling or grammatical (which I am sure I do) then please alert me to it - then I will try harder next time!
However, mine could be predictive text or fat finger syndrome grin

rosesarered Sat 29-Aug-15 14:55:15

Nope, not compulsary, but proves an interest in Gnett, other than starting contentious threads.

rosequartz Sat 29-Aug-15 14:57:59

There we are!!

Error, error, error
(I am the first to admit my mistakes)

durhamjen Sat 29-Aug-15 15:06:29

So you are the same person.

Alea Sat 29-Aug-15 15:07:01

FarNorth, every so often we are entertained by wind up merchants, threads on plimsolls, Vans, grandchildren's uniform mixed or single sex "bums n tums" and threads guaranteed to raise hackles Right and Left under the guise of politics

I too thought perhaps I recognised the style of Parliament 100 and make no apology for posting the only response I think OP warrants.
So be it, I can live with my conscience but to equally Frank (see what I did there? grin ) I do not draw attention to grammatical or spelling mistakes when I feel a poster has written n good faith. So not a total * then!

rosequartz Sat 29-Aug-15 15:10:37

I wont do it to noone else, promis, guydes honner.

Anya Sat 29-Aug-15 16:03:06

Alea you spelled that out for FarNorth

I was beginning to think 'gullible' had been removed from the English dictionary

Anya Sat 29-Aug-15 16:09:03

Terribul I'm not sure what DJ meant either as I hadn't posted (had I??? confused ) on this at that point.

Anya Sat 29-Aug-15 16:09:37

Alea missed out the 'glad'

Anya Sat 29-Aug-15 16:10:16

Perhaps she's getting Anya, Ana and Alea muddled up hmm

Alea Sat 29-Aug-15 17:12:38

DJ when you say " so you are the same person"
Who is the same person please, and which person? confused
