Well done David Cameron about time you had some balls!

During the time of the Scottish referendum David Cameron would no doubt have been dreading becoming the Prime Minister who saw the break up of the United Kingdom on his watch.

Even that is preferable to becoming the Prime Minister who dithered over intelligence reports which led to the assassination of the Queen.

I'm in agreement with the title of this thread. I'm not a fan of DC's but this had to be done. In fact more has to be done. We are at war already, right now with ISIS. Their fundamentalist fingers can reach into the laptops and mobile phones of activists over here whenever they want to. Now EU is letting hordes of young men of dubious origin to flood in.
There's no point in going over old ground, old rules for old wars this is different and its now. I'm so sorry that we're sleepwalking into such danger. To hear that there was a plot to assassinate the Queen was absolutely IT for me!

I agree with the opening post, something had to be done to make these people realise that we too can be 'tough'; at least we did not murder innocent people. I too wonder at the sanity of allowing hordes of refugees into the country, without really knowing who or what they are. They could just as easily be terrorist infiltrating the community with a view to doing whatever it is they have been told to do. We should be careful, we are fortunate, we are an island, which has saved us previously, and we should cherish it, but I do feel we are right to consider the orphaned children from a proper camp, before anyone else in the hope that we really can give them a better life.

I just wonder if anyone who disagrees vociferously with what Cameron has done would be disagreeing if it had been a Labour prime minister who had made the same decision?
It would be interesting to know, particularly as a Labour prime minister and his friends lied to win the vote to go into a war which killed so many innocent people.

I didn't vote for the Conservatives, was hoping for another Conservative/Lib Dem coalition, however was pleased they got in rather than Labour.I think so far , since they took over from Labour, they have done a good job generally for this country[ meaning Britain btw]. We can't have everything that we want in one swoop, but hopefully in the next 5 years we will be in a better place for everyone, more money means more money for all sorts of things.Had Labour got in last time, I would have worried but hoped they would continue being careful with the economy, and I would have no doubt liked some policies and not others.What I have noticed on Gransnet, by some Labour voters, is that they never, ever give credit where it's due, and all that is not connected to the Labour Party is nasty and cruel and evil!Quite ridiculous really.
I will continue to agree with some of DC's policies, and not others, but the decision to take Syrian refugees[ with obvious vetting] especially to take children, is a good idea, and the drone strike was another good idea, albeit not an actual policy but acting quickly on intelligence reports.I trust this PM to take the security of our nation seriously.

I think if Corbyn gets in as Labour leader and Farron will, I presume, take the Lib Dems further to the left, that there could be a resurgence of the Liberal Democrats.

We may need a sensible third party in opposition.

If Labour did split ( with the scenario of Corbyn being elected leader) then the Lib Dems could join with the MP's from Labour, but don't think that will happen.I don't much like Tim Fallon, thought Nick Clegg much better.They have no party now ( lib Dems) just a few MP's.So are finished for the near future.I shall wait and see what the Conservatives continue to do over the next five years.A week is a long time in politics, never mind five years!

And the Greens, of course, could join Corbyn and form the most unelectable party in the history of UK politics...
