They're off again!
It seems to be becoming a habit.

What a mess! The last time an Australian Prime Minister served a full term was eight years ago, i.e. his term came to an end in 2007. I can't say I'm sorry to see the back of the egregious Tony Abbott, though.

I heard they have had five PM's in eight years( or was it the other way round?)grin

I had to look up 'egregious'.

1. outstandingly bad; shocking.

2. archaic remarkably good.

I wonder why its meaning changed so extremely?

All I can say is YAY. Tony Abbott is a cringeworthy fool. He was born London and many wish he could be sent back. smile

DD and I were living in Sydney, I think it was around 2001 and we were waiting to catch the bus. Along came Malcolm Turnbull (now Australia's new Prime Minister) giving out flyers, he was at that time just running for parliament. I knew who he was as he was the man who had lead the failed referendum for Australia to become a Republic.

I think he was born here, but weren't his parents Australian - so thanks for the offer but no thanks Faye wink

It will be interesting to hear about any changes, no doubt my Australian family will keep me informed.

They do keep making it a habit though! I know Australia grows bananas but heaven forbid it should start looking like a banana republic country!
