New year/term, same old poo.

First anti-democratic point - £600 to be charged for information under the FOI

Second anti-democratic point and something that far left MP David Davis described as Franco's Spain. The requirement under the trade union bill for names, movement, social media use, etc to be given to the police prior to any action taken.

durhamjen Wed 13-Apr-16 23:47:33

Either barking mad, or no feelings.
I do not understand how somebody can be sent back to where he came from when he's over here because of being tortured.

He's been here for nearly four years.
He missed two months of English lessons because he was messed around by the home office, and they are using that as an excuse to deport him.

"The Home Office said: “The UK has a proud history of granting asylum to those who need our protection and we are committed to providing safe and secure accommodation while applications are considered. The cost of using hotel accommodation to board asylum seekers is borne by individual contractors who make such decisions, including which premises are used. We have made clear to our providers that the use of hotels is only ever acceptable as a short-term contingency measure.” "

Ha ha. No humanity.

A load of u-turns on housing.

whitewave Thu 14-Apr-16 22:31:22

It would be an interesting exercise to look at the sum of what they have tried to do and what they have actually achieved?

211,000+ signatures on this petition to stop the sell off of the land registry.

Let's hope they do a u-turn on this.

Anyone interested in the Trade Union Bill?
There's going to be avote soon on whether they should allow online voting.

Anniebach Sat 16-Apr-16 13:12:45

No point in me mailing our new MP , a far right Tory . I hope the online voting will win the vote , this government wants w country free of trade unions

durhamjen Sat 16-Apr-16 13:40:32

Is this what you want, whitewave?

cameronscorkers.org/

durhamjen Sat 16-Apr-16 13:42:58

Actually it isn't because it only goes up to the end of 2013.

whitewave Sat 16-Apr-16 13:50:37

On and on they go. Imagine if they had a hostile press. The incompetence is unparalleled.

durhamjen Sat 16-Apr-16 13:56:32

I see the press are going after Corbyn again, suggesting there will be a leadership contest.
Obviously there is a need to deflect criticism from their paymasters.

It will be a good way to recruit more Labour party members.

whitewave Sat 16-Apr-16 18:22:34

Haven't seen that what is it about?

durhamjen Sun 17-Apr-16 17:46:27

It was in the Guardian, whitewave, an article about Momentum, suggesting bullyboy tactics from Corbynistas.

weownit.us6.list-manage.com/track/click?u=ef1f3f5b8067610251b19fb6c&id=85d499206d&e=9b816f1393

This is important. People have always said that it would be impossible to bring energy back into public ownership because of the costs.
Research has been done to show it will pay for itself within ten years.
Time for a Labour government.

Ana Sun 17-Apr-16 17:49:46

Only four more years to wait...!

whitewave Sun 17-Apr-16 18:47:26

Just watched a local politics show. So depressing. Boundary changes will take 40 seats from Labour and give them to the Tories. Suggesting that it would be almost impossible for Labour to get back in unless PR was introduced as the actual votes for Labour wouldn't change.

Government involved in illegal armstrade.

Will it really last for four years? The teflon is beginning to scrub off Cameron these days.

To ask for a general election in 2016.
Please sign and pass on.

I like the government response. It says hard luck, so there!
I have a feeling that a lot of Libdems will be signing this if they know about it.

Ana Sun 17-Apr-16 19:25:39

Nothing to do with Cameron. They can get rid of him as they did Thatcher, but the conservatives will still be in power until 2020.

durhamjen Sun 17-Apr-16 19:48:31

Perhaps you ought to read the government response, Ana.
It says otherwise. There are two ways to get rid of the government. Not as easily as previously, but still there.

Ana Sun 17-Apr-16 19:58:34

Perhaps you shouldn't count your chickens, durhamjen, that's all I'm saying.

whitewave Mon 18-Apr-16 07:07:30

Another U turn

This one by Hunt saying he will impose the contract on the Doctors. He is being taken to court and has so retreated on the claim.
Standing up to bullies always works.

He has probably misled parliament.

Anya Mon 18-Apr-16 07:58:10

And who would you have as PM DJ?

Corbyn?

Can't you see what's going under your own eyes or are you too blinded with hatred towards Cameron and his government?

Jeremy is a nice enough bloke. He stands up for his ideals, bless him, and in fact many of us share his ideals and honour him for his integrity. But, he is not cut out for leadership and his strength was from the back benches.

The man is being used by the militant left of the party to further their own agenda. If the waving of Mao's Little Red Book didn't give you a clue then I don't know what will hmm

Gracesgran Mon 18-Apr-16 08:27:28

Lots of reports this morning about JH Mr Hunt saying he is merely "introducing" the changes not "imposing" them. It seems it is OK to be arrogant about your powers above the law until you are taken to court!

As even the Mail is saying "The contract was aimed at making junior doctors work more weekend shifts for lower rates of pay, particularly on Saturdays." It appears they are now loosing the support of their friends as well as those who are naturally opposed to their wrecking of the health service.

In the same article Norman Lamb, Liberal Democrat health minister under Mr Hunt until last May, says "'If he’s changed the language from “imposing” to “introducing”, it may be that there’s no way the Government can continue to try to get this contract implemented.

‘It looks like the contract is dead in the water, that it has no life in it, like the dead parrot in Monty Python.’ "

There is also an article on the same subject here; www.theguardian.com/society/2016/apr/17/pressure-mounts-on-jeremy-hunt-over-handling-of-junior-doctors-dispute

Anniebach Mon 18-Apr-16 08:31:04

And anyone who didn't get the joke of the red book , Osbourne and his crawling to china must surely get it now we have learned what Cameron did to our steel industry to keep China 's steel industry strong.

Corbyn is not being used by the left he has been on the left since a teenager

As for standing up for his principles , this is what honest people do , difficult for supporters of Osbourne and Cameron to understand because those two have so few if any.

durhamjen Mon 18-Apr-16 09:30:29

All coming together now.

nhap.org/in-the-wake-of-the-panama-revelations-the-role-of-companies-who-have-been-investigated-for-promoting-tax-avoidance-and-who-hold-nhs-and-other-public-service-contracts-should-be-urgently-reviewed-say/

Too many threads to put this on. This is unbelievable. The first paragraph was about 2013 and the HSBC papers.

"Margaret Hodge, then Chair of the Committee, recommended that PwC should be dropped from Government contracts for what the Committee described as industrial-scale tax avoidance. That should have been acted on.

At almost the same time the Panama Papers were exposed the government announced that rules to prevent tax-avoiding private companies from securing NHS contracts are being scrapped. This is unbelievable in the current climate of public anger about these schemes. These rules should be maintained."

whitewave Mon 18-Apr-16 09:58:41

What utter fools and with what contempt they must hold the tax paying public in the UK.

They not only don't contribute to the NHS, but they are hoping to milk it as well for gain.

This is corruption pure and simple.
