New year/term, same old poo.

First anti-democratic point - £600 to be charged for information under the FOI

Second anti-democratic point and something that far left MP David Davis described as Franco's Spain. The requirement under the trade union bill for names, movement, social media use, etc to be given to the police prior to any action taken.

Wow, this is worth watching.

This is what the government did when nobody was watching as we were all watching the election news.
Crosby was given his knighthood for "political service". How cynical is that!

durhamjen Sat 07-May-16 00:29:05

Thanks, daphne. Ana and Anya knew, but they've been on GN a lot longer than you - and me. My grandson has autism, which is why school was difficult for him.

I have a gardener to mow my lawn, as the lawn mower is too heavy for me to push.

daphnedill Fri 06-May-16 20:34:20

I didn't know that you home school your GS, dj. I admire you for taking on the responsibility. I finally got round to mowing my lawn today.

Ana Fri 06-May-16 19:51:01

Ha, ha gj, how many times have you flounced off...?

(Yes, I know I said I was off, but that remark was so silly!)

granjura Fri 06-May-16 19:33:07

Discuss, debate, argue - whatever your views...

Attack, deride and flounce? Not acceptable in my book, sorry.

whitewave Fri 06-May-16 18:57:05

ana well that added a lot to the debate?

dj can't win! Post blues and she gets moaned at - post a chatty post and she gets moaned at.

Do buck up.

Ana Fri 06-May-16 18:51:29

How could we possibly forget that you spend many hours home-schooling your GS, dj? Goodness, all I said was that you get a lot of your links fed straight into your e-mail account. What's condescending about that?

(Don't bother answering, I'm off here!)

trisher Fri 06-May-16 18:26:51

Can't decide if this government is pure 1984 or simply pantomime. Actually I've decided it's pantomime. They make an announcement and then then contradict it-"Oh no they don't" "Oh yes....."

MamaCaz Fri 06-May-16 18:24:27

So DJ gives links to things that she agrees with or that support her arguments. What on earth is wrong with that? We all have to have got our information / the facts on which we base our political standpoint from somewhere (unless like IDS, we simply adopt the completely unsubstantiated 'I believe it to be true' line), so I find DJ's links very useful and, for want of a better word, honest. Is she supposed to paraphrase everything she reads and not acknowledge where she has got her info from? If she did that, I bet someone would soon accuse her of making things up! As it is, anyone who wishes can read the article / info / data that she has linked to and come back with strong counter-arguments if they wish. That seems like the foundation of healthy debate to me.

durhamjen Fri 06-May-16 18:04:48

Hello, everyone. I went for a long walk with my grandson, looking at all the different hedgerow plants, taking photos to find out if they are earlier than last year, so we can discuss climate change, the topic of the moment, obviously, with the world being out of kilter.
Such a shame, Anya and Ana, that you think it's preferable to discuss wnat I do rather than the topic. So strange, too, that you forget that I spend most of the week teaching my grandson at homeschool. I am worried about your memories.
You do that on so many threads, I think you are actually on here for a lot longer than I am.

Like others on here, I really have no idea what your philosophy is - or even if you have one.
Not that I care, as you are both so condescending.

whitewave Fri 06-May-16 17:45:02

As I have just posted on other thread. This is the third U Turn in a month from the Dept. Of Ed.

oldgoat Fri 06-May-16 17:44:18

Let's hope they admit their mistakes over the Year 6 SATs and cancel them too.

Anniebach Fri 06-May-16 17:37:49

Yesterday morning Hunt wasn't going to resume talks with the doctors, yesterday afternoon the talks will resume , they don't know their a from their elbow do they

granjura Fri 06-May-16 17:37:45

Have you got a link for that ;) ?

whitewave Fri 06-May-16 17:29:36

Here ye! here ye! here ye!

The government wishes to announce the latest U Turn - let it be known that MS Morgan has decided she didn't know what she was talking about, and therefore has gracefully retreated from the academisation of all schools. With vast apologies for all the upset caused by her total incompetence.

granjura Fri 06-May-16 17:23:56

Argument... or debate?

I believe that if you refuse to join in a debate with relevant information, in the form of links or your own informative comments (rather than just 'rubbish' or 'how left wing', type of thing)- and its like not voting- you lose the right to complain.

I never mind discussing anything with anyone who totally disagrees with me, as long as they do so informatively, rather than just rudely or condescendingly.

Anniebach Fri 06-May-16 17:22:32

Just want to say - it isn't raining in Wales grin

granjura Fri 06-May-16 16:52:08

Gorgeous weather here too whitewave- Spring, which had sprung quite quite some week ago and then gone to hide again- as truly come back- spent a lot of time in the garden in the sun, relaxing... and all that. Wonderful.

whitewave Fri 06-May-16 16:51:20

Oh I see. I was being sort of light hearted though about life in general on GN.

Anniebach Fri 06-May-16 16:50:49

Anya, perhaps you would find the time to post links of what you claim is unbiased
Information , surely would take the same time as it takes you to criticise Jen for posting links

Ana Fri 06-May-16 16:47:51

Really? I was saying that I wasn't joining in any argument, just stating the fact that a lot of dj's information and links are fed to her, before being fed to us.

whitewave Fri 06-May-16 16:46:10

Glorious day here by the way, what's it like with you?

whitewave Fri 06-May-16 16:45:28

Yes but you're reply doesn't make sense?

Ana Fri 06-May-16 16:43:12

No, my reply was to your comment about the 'next arguent', whitewave.
