Chortle.

However, I would hope the abbatoir would be near to the farm where the pig has been outdoor reared in mud and sunshine. Sadly not always the case.

I hate it when animals are exploited. Surely they had the wit to do something cleverer?

Elegran Wed 23-Sept-15 10:30:04

The delivery of a ready-to-roast rolled pork joint with stuffing through the middle would have been more subtle. Too subtle for the demonstrators and for the media circus, I suspect. No-one would even have noticed - they'd have thought it was the butcher's van.

Like it, elegran smile

Does anyone who says they hate the exploitation of animals include pets in their definition of exploitation? It is in a way, I think, because pets are mainly for the benefit of humans. I don't like to see overbred 'toy' dogs, for instance. I think that kind of overbreeding rather gross and definitely an 'exploitation'.

We used to live up the road from a pig abbatoir.

If the wind was in the wrong direction we could hear squeals. They are not stupid animals.

thatbags Wed 23-Sept-15 10:42:39

We had a whole litter of squealing piglets in our house once, running around everywhere, including upstairs. Piglets squeal a lot.

Their mum was going crazy in her pen (from whence they'd escaped through a hole too small for her), so she was making a lot of noise too, though it was more grunty and growly that squealy, I seem to recall.

They weren't our pigs. They'd come quite a distance up the lane to get to our house. All were carried and safely delivered, still squealing, back to their mama. The noise subsided then.

Perhaps for another discussion thatbags on another thread, if you'd like to open one- happy to contribute. I do agree to a large extent (we only have had mongrel rescues).

I think what any of us have done in the past is the past but as for now Cameron should be putting our country first and not let other eu members walk all over him

Happy4me Wed 23-Sept-15 11:20:42

Some threads are not worth reading except the site sends me emails headlining it ... oh dear

thatbags Wed 23-Sept-15 13:13:10

You can unsubscribe from the emails, happy.

tried that the site didn't take any notice thatbags thanks for your advice ... smile

Nannanoo Wed 23-Sept-15 14:44:36

This was a silly prank, as was DC's original misbehaviour.
What upsets me (apart from the poor pig being terrified) is the fact that this piggy thing is making headlines and causing a fracas, whilst Cameron's political and social wheeler dealings are far more harmful and worthy of derision.
He gets away with some pretty awful stuff, and all the while people are concentrating on his student stupidity. It has to be said, tho' that a student with his background, money and attitudes, would have been far more likely to behave disgustingly than your average hard working, loan-ridden undergrad!

rosesarered Wed 23-Sept-15 17:03:38

We don't know that there WAS any original misbehaviour by DC, in the first place!

Ana Wed 23-Sept-15 17:06:17

Not involving a pig, at any rate!

Happy4me Fri 25-Sept-15 10:45:00

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned but this time it was a lord [ A] in the party who never got the top job ... nasty I call it.

I doubt most of us would rather not have our youthful antics written in book for public reading .... ouch

Elegran Fri 25-Sept-15 11:08:46

I do hate the way most people are believing this allegation with no corroboration whatsoever. Even the word "alleged" is appearing less and less - proving that the general opinion is, that if you say/hear something often enough, it becomes true.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 25-Sept-15 11:10:13

I believe it. grin

Happy4me Fri 25-Sept-15 13:18:47

Were you there jinglbellsfrocks ... in fact were any of you so how can you comment basically .... we are supposed to free in this country until the papers declare you guilty.

From Twitter.....Google Image Reverse Search shows the original of the supposed David Cameron pig photo was taken 1978 in New York.

Two photos, original and recent changed one both shown, but I dont have a clue how to post them. On @pete_holloways Twitter feed if anyone is interested.

Elegran Fri 25-Sept-15 14:22:55

And which of the honourable members in that photograph is said to be David Cameron's ? I don't recognise any of their faces (wouldn't recognise any other bits)

Elegran Fri 25-Sept-15 14:26:30

I will comment that the pig's head appears to be on the lap of the seated figure, but not in a postion where any "part of his anatomy" could be inserted into its mouth, and that the naked standing figure is too far away from the pig to be in contact with it.

I don't think this is a photo of the "alleged occurrence"

The one having his bow tie adjusted doesn't look all that with it.

So, which is the genuine photo and which is the photoshopped one? hmm
