Should we bomb De-ash/ISIS in Syria?

As I've said about three times now, he said he was 'enjoying every minute of it' in reply to a question about the possibility of him having to resign as party leader.

The interview was about Syria and what action should be taken.

I'm so glad he's enjoying his current position, but thought he could have phrased his response better.

I find it sad that anyone could think the man was referring to bombing Syria, he is under constant attack by the Tory press and he showed they were not troubling him . A calm man, I like that, i understand why the right, the Cameron devotees are troubled by him . There is strength is calmness and so party membership is still increasing

He's allowed to enjoy his job - and I am not a Corbynista as far as I know. The media are trying to make his job as hard as possible. There is more talk on the 10 O'clock news, that I am listening to right now, about potential splits in the Labour party than about the important issues that are under discussion.

I think JC was impressive in the Andrew Mar interview.

I find it disconcerting that the Corbynistas on here think 'enjoying every minute of it' is an appropriate response to being put on the spot during an interview discussing the question of bombing Syria.

I find it amusing that Corbyn seems to be on every news report and every political thread here. Some in the Labour Party want us to bomb some do not, same in the Tory party.

Who is the leader of IS? There isn't one. Do those who think bombing Syria is going to destroy IS ? It isn't , it will mean the deaths of more innocent people and IS will gain more followers, more cells will emerge across the world because young people will see the destruction of their homeland , will see the west wielding it' s power yet again .

We got rid of Hussain but are still bombing Iraq, we got rid of Gadaffi and is Libya peaceful?

Work was going on to find ways of stopping opium production there and in Afghanistan way before the Iraq war, and to give the farmers another way of farming to fund their livelihood.

Iam64- watch Tony Benn's speech- he is talking about what it is like (and he lived through the Blitz) to be civilians bombed from the air. Perhaps this is part of the problem now- few people alive who have to make this extremely difficult decision, do not know what it is like.^

But most of us had parents who were either serving (and didn't come home again) or had experience of being bombed in the Blitz (which was not just London btw).
We do know, even if we weren't there. And some of us were there. Our parents and relatives talked about it. Don't belittle the situation by saying we don't know. We don't have to listen to Tony Benn to find out.

Presumably those making the decision have parents or grandparents who knew as well.

The reason I'm mainly against "bombing Isil in Syria" is that nobody seems to know exactly where they are. So you would be bombing at random, which is pointless and cruel.
Or am I wrong? Do we know where they are?

And yet his son, Hilary Benn, Shadow Foreign Secretary is in favour of the bombing if Syria in direct opposition to his leader.

This is a highly questionable if not libellous assertion , Granjura, "stole" and "using the production of opium for military action ", strong language indeed.
To prevent Gransnet being sued or closed down, perhaps you would elaborate on your accusation with objective and credible evidence.
