soontobe I will take the words of the Met Police and other official bodies, as well as my own experience of London, rather than accept your view that there are "no go " areas in London.
Of course, there are always people who, usually speaking anonymously and with malign intent, wish to create an atmosphere of fear and mistrust between communities. I had not expected that you, as a professed Christian, would be so willing to go along with such alarmist statements without the benefit of clear and indisputable evidence to back them up. I seem to remember Jesus said "Blessed are the peacemakers".
Stansgran One of your posts seemed to be agreeing with the idea that there are "no go" areas and you cite a comment made on Mumsnet relating to Bishop Auckland. Wikipedia contains the information that only 1.5% of the population of that area is foreign born - as against the national average of 8.9%. The Muslim population makes up 0.2%. As others have suggested, it is often those areas where there are the fewest foreigners where there is also the greatest fear of them and the most prejudice.
