Cameron's Christmas message

Having read the headline perhaps Cameron can reflect on Christian values of faith, hope and charity and look to his conscience for guidance concerning the more unfortunate people both at home and abroad! Where is kindness, support and understanding in government policy? Is it really Christian to see people in poverty, the NHS a shambles whilst our leaders are revelling in their million £ homes and tasting all the good things life has to offer. Perhaps he thinks that charity begins in his home and doesn't extend further than his circle mates.

Anyway, my Christmas message is to help and support all those who are less well off than ourselves in whatever small way we can. Happy Christmas all and please forgive the grouch. (I'm an aetheist (spelling has deserted me on this Christmas eve) - I must be getting older!)

Was that necessary, bags?

I liked your post, niggly. Sarcastic, maybe. Bit bitchy, maybe. Funny, definitely. All three are allowed and all three will be interpreted differently according to senses of humour (or lack thereof), perceptions of other posters' viewpoints and so on. Keep up the good work smile

Just for the record, I often think posts of yours sarcastic and bitchy, djen. You may well think the same about mine. Big deal. Not.

It must be using false names on here

Ana Fri 01-Jan-16 20:16:55

Er...what? Are you accusing me and rose of fraud, Anniebach? I do hope not.

Anniebach Fri 01-Jan-16 20:13:42

As expected rosesarered and Ana, you really should pn!t judge others by your own actions

rosequartz Fri 01-Jan-16 20:10:55

flipping houses, expenses for duck houses, running fraudulent companies, using influence for personal gain, accepting donations, corruption, gerrymandering etc etc - I am sure you haven't done any of those!! shock

Using a false name - oh, perhaps that one wink

That's why I think Gnetters could be better at running the country

Ana Fri 01-Jan-16 19:47:27

After all, what does an MP do that I haven't?

I can think of a list as long as your arm, but won't bother posting it.

rosequartz Fri 01-Jan-16 19:04:14

Anyway, how does she know I have not had my chance at running the country? Does she know more about me than I do - or think she knows more about me?
After all, what does an MP do that I haven't?

Intrigued now (can you post on the 15+ minutes of fame thread please?)

durhamjen Fri 01-Jan-16 18:05:16

I would have been criticised for being sarcastic if I'd said the same to nigglie, and you know it, jingl..
Somehow I do not think she intended it to be playful.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 01-Jan-16 16:23:25

It was very mild, almost playful, mocking. I certainly wouldn't call it 'bitchiness'. hmm

Ana Fri 01-Jan-16 16:04:13

Me too! hmm

rosesarered Fri 01-Jan-16 16:02:56

I find that hard to believe ab ?

Anniebach Fri 01-Jan-16 16:01:08

Not sticking up for Jen who is quite capable of standing her ground, I am speaking of an insulting post and my disgust that some found it amusing I would say the same no matter who had been mocked

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 01-Jan-16 15:48:15

The Pope's Xmas message was nice.

rosequartz Fri 01-Jan-16 15:46:47

she launched a verbal bitching at a poster
anniebach it is very nice of you to stick up for djen tchsmile but I am sure she is quite able to give as good as she gets.

rosesarered Fri 01-Jan-16 15:37:11

tchgrin

rosequartz Fri 01-Jan-16 15:01:36

But perhaps she really is amazed?

Sometimes it amazes me that Gransnetters are not running the country, we have so many better ideas than those who attempt to.
smile

Anniebach Fri 01-Jan-16 14:58:53

I don't agree nigglenellie was naughty , she launched a verbal bitching at a poster, so not naughty, rude and uncalled for, is it not so that everyone is allowed to post their opinions without being sneered at ?

rosequartz Fri 01-Jan-16 14:54:32

nigglynellie very norty! grin

grumppa a very good idea indeed - does it make a jot of difference anyway?

grumppa Fri 01-Jan-16 12:50:42

So far I have managed to avoid both JC's and DC's New Year messages: a good start to 2016.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 01-Jan-16 12:40:39

Norr-tee!!!! grin

nigglynellie Fri 01-Jan-16 12:38:32

It never ceases to amaze me dj why you're not running the country as you clearly have all the answers to every problem however complex at your fingertips, and always have had. With your superior knowledge and intuition you not being at the helm has clearly been a severe loss for this country, and probably the world.

durhamjen Fri 01-Jan-16 11:58:06

Just listened to Cameron's speech, wishing everyone a very happy new year. The people dealing with floods will not have been listening, fortunately, because he has forgotten about them already.

Ana Fri 01-Jan-16 11:25:50

Blair and Cameron were, of course, both elected as PM. Perhaps the dynamism helped.

Anniebach Fri 01-Jan-16 09:43:06

Just heard Cameron's new year message , he is going to tackle poverty, what his close friend and advisor Oliver Letwin would say was helping the lower class
