I cant decide whether I like him or not. I probably shouldnt.

I also cant decide if he is playing fair about the EU in or out decision.
Is everything to him just about himself and his career, and that is why he is fence sitting extraordinaire?

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 17-Feb-16 19:05:22

Isn't he waiting to see what the General Assembly make of David Cameron's negotiating? I think he really wants out but doesn't want to go against Dave. Quite sweet really.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 17-Feb-16 19:07:24

You have to like him. Really. smile

Luckygirl Wed 17-Feb-16 19:10:30

Do you?! Imagine him as party leader and thence PM - the mind boggles!

FarNorth Wed 17-Feb-16 19:10:31

You may have to. I don't.

Riverwalk Wed 17-Feb-16 19:11:21

Nothing sweet about Boris Johnson - he's hedging his bets.

Ana Wed 17-Feb-16 19:11:44

I think he's enjoying keeping Dave on tenterhooks...it's all about power for some people, especially politicians! grin

kittylester Wed 17-Feb-16 19:34:16

I've got a soft spot for him but could be convinced otherwise!

obieone Wed 17-Feb-16 19:46:59

Same here kl and I dont know why. He is probably charming, and I try to go out of my way to not go by charm.

I thought I read a few days ago, that he said that he was never in the out camp. But now am reading that according to the media he may lead it.

grannylyn65 Wed 17-Feb-16 20:33:29

I think he is not as stupid as he looks!
( is this possible?)

whitewave Wed 17-Feb-16 20:43:45

Nothing sweet about Johnson. Morals of a gutter rat. He is desperate for the leadership, so must decide in advance where the vote will fall for EU membership, not an easy decision.

rosesarered Wed 17-Feb-16 21:33:26

I would echo the nothing sweet about Johnson! he is hedging his bets and wants to be PM, shudder.

whitewave Wed 17-Feb-16 21:36:33

Just think Johnson for UK. Trump for USA we already have Putin for Russia. What a trio.

rosesarered Wed 17-Feb-16 21:40:59

Not a dream team, is it? grin

whitewave Wed 17-Feb-16 21:46:11

It would make for interesting times., albeit somewhat nerve wracking!

Elrel Wed 17-Feb-16 23:21:01

He knows exactly what he's doing. Charming, amusing, but I'm unimpressed by his Zionism.

Whitewave. I was already contemplating the potential of Putin
and Trump, BoJo added to that would indeed complete an unholy trinity!!

WilmaKnickersfit Wed 17-Feb-16 23:30:48

I agree he knows exactly what he's doing. The charming but bumbling buffoon is just an act. He's toying with DC.

Unholy Trinity for sure. shock

Jane10 Thu 18-Feb-16 07:05:33

He's a very clever man. I'm not sure what it is that makes him so likeable but, like some of you others, I can't help liking him. I also like that he's a bit different from the other grey men and women in politics. He doesn't toe a party line. You feel somehow that he's his own man. An independent thinker in politics? What next? Is he a Tory version of Jeremy Corbyn? Blimey!

FarNorth Thu 18-Feb-16 08:42:28

Sorry, Jane10, not of that sounds likeable to me.
Some people may go for the amiable buffoon thing. More fools them.

FarNorth Thu 18-Feb-16 08:42:58

not* none

Jane10 Thu 18-Feb-16 09:07:54

I do go for the amiable buffoon stereotype but I also read what he writes. Buffoon like a fox!

Gaggi3 Thu 18-Feb-16 09:53:44

Can't stand the man. I don't doubt his intellect, but find him deeply irritating, and disagree with most of his views.

Gagagran Thu 18-Feb-16 10:00:09

He reminds me of Churchill both physically and in oratory and I think there is a powerful intellect under that blond thatch. I prefer him to smug David Cameron, who I never quite know what, if anything, he believes in.

whitewave Thu 18-Feb-16 10:00:17

Is he as bright as all that? Certainly not a lot of integrity. He loved quoting phrases from the classics, but not entirely sure that that proves intellect.

puppytoe Thu 18-Feb-16 10:02:10

I always thought that he was one of the main reasons that most cities voted not to have an elected mayor. Most people I know can't stand him.
