I cant decide whether I like him or not. I probably shouldnt.

I also cant decide if he is playing fair about the EU in or out decision.
Is everything to him just about himself and his career, and that is why he is fence sitting extraordinaire?

The Labour Party is in favour of staying in the EU. This was made clear when I saw Corbyn speak on Saturday in Llandudno.
Rather a pity that the EU in/out debate looks like becoming a proxy for the Tory leadership battle. This battle could become so acrimonious that the party splits.
This is of course more interesting to the press at the moment than anything else. So you probably won't hear much mainstream coverage of the more united Labour party in the next few weeks.

I woke up thinking about the laughability or otherwise of people on bikes and concluded that it's not a thing in my life.

A friend of mine who does fortnight long cycling/camping holidays with her family on the islands and mainland of western Scotland says they, who wear ordinary clothes when cycling, sometimes get scornful looks from some lycra-clad cycling dudes. She just thinks their scornful looks show up their twattiness. I think she's right.

I think the Alan Johnson interview is with Krishnan Guru Murthy, yes?

Again I don't see the relevance other than it is a left wing politician with your views spouting the same message. Have I missed something? confused

POGS Tue 23-Feb-16 00:42:35

Why would I say that isn't true?

What relevance to you make between your link and my posts?

I have heard him say it won't be easy but that does not mean he doesn't think it the right thing to do, in his opinion. I believe I heard him say in the speech he gave outside his home yesterday much the same thing as your link.

durhamjen Tue 23-Feb-16 00:15:27

Very weird. Every time I try and put a link for the Alan Johnson interview, the Boris interview comes up.
It's on the same page if anyone wants to watch it.

Alan Johnson on Boris and the labour party's stance.

POGS, are you saying that the statement Boris made in the Telegraph wasn't true? Link at 22.34

I thought his father Stanley gave a good interview on Sky today.

You can see how he allowed his children to develop their own thought pattern and whilst Stanley is voting to stay IN he totally accepted his children have a mind of their own and are adults who can decide for themselves.

Those who have spoken of knowing Boris Johnson through working alongside him during his time as a journalist totally put paid to those who think/judge him as being a Europhile ! He is known to be Eurosceptic . Just because you don't like the man or the party he belongs to at least check out his history .

I thought Cameron made a mistake today whilst giving his Statement to the House. He and the other MP's who tried to disparage him just made themselves look a tad infantile. Get's my bloody goat.

SirKevin Mon 22-Feb-16 23:25:56

Dunno what to think about him!

Ana Mon 22-Feb-16 22:44:48

As are you, dj! grin

I still don't see why you think Boris on a bike is more 'laughable' than Corbyn on a bike - but then I don't understand why you keep excusing Corbyn for changing his views now he's the Labour Party leader.

durhamjen Mon 22-Feb-16 22:37:43

I actually wrote a full paragraph justifying my comment about Boris, but then took it off, because I thought it wasn't worth it, because Ana and roses are so predictable anyway.

Boris's views two weeks ago.

Ana Mon 22-Feb-16 22:22:12

I expect so, FarNorth.

FarNorth Mon 22-Feb-16 22:18:22

I think people did say uncomplimentary things about JC. Did jen comment every time?

Ana Mon 22-Feb-16 22:01:48

Yet if anyone had said that Jeremy Corbyn was 'laughable' on a bike, I doubt whether dj would have let it pass without question...

FarNorth Mon 22-Feb-16 21:57:17

I expect jen means he just is, in her opinion. One's sense of humour is not a matter of facts and can't always be explained.

Ana Mon 22-Feb-16 21:36:55

Although it might suffice in the playground, as roses says...hmm

Ana Mon 22-Feb-16 21:33:59

'He just is' is not an answer, durhamjen.

rosesarered Mon 22-Feb-16 21:13:55

I would not like Boris to ever be PM, but if it ever came to a toss up between him and Corbyn, it would be the blonde I would choose.Preferably neither though.

rosesarered Mon 22-Feb-16 21:12:12

Actually, am quite impressed that someone of Boris's size does so well on a bike.
Djen all the things you are saying lately smack of the playground, shall we all try and be grown up?

durhamjen Mon 22-Feb-16 21:09:23

He just is, Ana.

rosesarered Mon 22-Feb-16 21:08:48

Corbyn really wants to leave the EU but he and his team have been keeping very quiet lately, so instead of being truthful, he just uses distraction techniques ie. Saying what Cameron should have been asking the EU for ( as if he, Corbyn, has a clue!) grin

Ana Mon 22-Feb-16 21:05:58

Why?

durhamjen Mon 22-Feb-16 21:01:08

Boris on a bike is more laughable than Jeremy.

Anniebach Mon 22-Feb-16 20:44:25

He speaks sense Jen but the media want performers
