No wonder nobody but the usual gang post on here anymore. You're all so rude and unpleasant to anyone with opposing views it's almost unbelievable. Judging from another thread some even consider themselves to be Christians!! Your hostility to certain posters on that particular thread, makes that claim just laughable!

TATA will continue with steel making plants in other countries in the EU - it isn't in their interest to sell to a rival in the UK.

The Prime Minister has had productive talks about Port Talbot in Downing Street. So that's okay then. We can celebrate.

Listening to Gupta on the radio this morning he didn't even realise his name was in the frame until he arrived in the UK today! They have clearly not given the buy out any consideration whatsoever. Not sure I would touch it with a barge pole at £1m loss a day who would?

I suppose it could be purchased to be asset stripped. Probably what the Tories will allow to happen with a good explanation.

Gupta has just announced that he has had an in depth talk with the government and seems to think a purchase is on the cards! Well given that he only arrived in the Uk this morning and had not given it any thought, then I don't give much credence to the announcement. In depth talks? I don't think so. Ready to purchase - I don't think so - how can such a complicated take over be decided in a couple of hours? Good grief! Who is rattling his cage I wonder?

Well this morning on radio 4 he gave an interview in which he announced that he had just come back to the UK, had not given the Steel buy out any thought and had had no conversation with the government. Within a couple of hours or so that had changed to yes a buy out was possible and in depth conversation with the government had taken place. Now that is confusing!

I have been doing an informal poll of younger people I met during the last week (at the risk of sounding like an old bore ) and was surprised that the majority of responses were either 'out' or 'undecided'.
I really thought the majority of under 50s would be voting to stay in.

and yes, I do know it was not a representative number of younger voters but surprising nonetheless.

May depend on where you live and how old the young people are.Could be a big difference between 18 and 25 year olds.

I don't know any young people except for our own children ( not that young anymore) and friends children ( all 35 to 40 though.)They are a mix of out and in.

It wasn't where I live (I have been away).
It was an eclectic mix of people (some I knew, some I didn't and asked on the off-chance!) and I was very surprised at the responses I must say.
