How will you vote in the EU referendum? (Thread 2)

That's interesting.

Let's hope for every export in there is an export out or we are 'all doomed' Captain Mainwaring.

How odd! In the "last hour" list, the second sentence of Pog's post starts "Let'se for every . . ." then if I refresh the page the "hop" comes back briefly then vanishes again. Gremlins?

Elegran

That's opened up the bear pit to say I talk a load of old rubbish, Ta missus..

The North East is the only area in the UK which exports more than it imports, so it's not one in one out in the rest of the UK, because other areas must import more than they export.

My post was meant as a tongue in cheek comment.

Interesting to hear the North East is exporting more than it imports though.

Very appropriate, POGS, even if tongue in cheek.
I heard that about the North Easy on radio Newcastle this morning, said by my local MEP.

North Easy? Where's that?

Oh dear Day6 - I started to read Tim Loghton's letter you posted and thought it sounded like a reasonable explanation, though I expect the "acquired rights" he mentions in relation to property may vary country by country.

However, towards the end he makes this rather telling point:

In terms of people's working rights, this is one of many things that will need to be negotiated after we come out of the EU.

This could be interpreted to suggest major back-pedalling on the Working Time Directive, and other in-work, and social issues. Maybe the "British Bill of Rights" proposed by some could offer more 'flexibility' still with imposed, iniquitous 'zero hours contract' terms.

I'm not saying that the EU approach resolves or is likely to resolve these issues, but given their reputation over the past decade or so, I don't think our parliament has either the willingness or integrity to address those potential pitfalls.

The OECD has warned against the UK leaving the EU, arguing that it would be disastrous for the UK, the EU and the world.

Whitewave. Call me stupid if I'm missing something here, but if we are so insignificant ( as some on here think) how can us leaving be so disastrous for the EU and the world.

Don't know - ask the OECD. Something to do with instability.

What I want to know was who lacked a degree of integrity and gossiped about Her Maj. Oh! who was at the wedding of our favourite publisher? Why none other than dear (I support Brexit) Mr Gove, who also was privy to the now notorious lunches hosted by Her Maj.

Who else was at the wedding oh! Ms Brooks and Sun editor. Now call me a cynic

Definitely a vote for OUT here.

This is interesting, about why referendums are more important than election campaigns.

Whitewave, do you think Mrs Gove was there as well?
Except at lunch with her Maj, of course.

Very interesting as it looks at what happened with the French referendums.

People answer the question they wanted to be asked.

I see that one of Camarons renegotiation team has voted for out. Syed Kamall, the son of immigrants, wants a points based system for immigrants.
Now if anyone knows what's going on, he does.

do you think Mrs Gove was there as well?

I did wonder that myself earlier today
I meant at lunch

And at the nuptials whitewave

No I doubt that Mrs Gove was at the lunch with Her Maj. As wasn't it for the privy councillors? She was at the nuptials with her hubby though, great friends of that man of integrity and friend of all phone tappers our Mr Murdoch and his new wife. God bless them!

The referendum view of a young internationalist liberal.

Can't watch/read it I'm not on twitter.

That shouldn't matter, pogs, but let's see if you can read it in this format:

What about fair trade?
That will give African chocolate exporters more money.
It's up to the importers whether they buy fairtrade or not, nothing to do with the EU.
One of the responses said that the EU was colonial. Wasn't the UK?

This is nothing to do with the EU, either. It's the sort of agreement that the UK could have with every country if we leave the EU.
