So London Mayoral candidate Sadiq Khan says he wears 'a badge of shame' because of anti semitism in his party and suggests they should undergo training to tackle their prejudices. He also called on Corbyn to take a tougher stance whilst addressing a hustings organised by the Jewish Forum.

Another Labour councillor in Luton , Aysegul Gurbuz , has been suspended (pending an investigation) for making anti Semetic tweets . She reportedly tweeted Hitler was the greatest man in history and she hoped Iran would use a nuclear weapon to 'wipe Israel off the map'. 'Ed Miliband is Jewish, he will never become Prime Minister of Britain' . Also Labour councillor Khadim Hussain , former Mayor of Bradford is reported as being suspended from the party for anti Semetic comments.

Thank goodness there are voices of people who are acknowledging the issue such as Polly Toynbee who said on the Andrew Marr programme today 'appalling anti Semetic things have been said'.

Jeremy Corbyn on the same Andrew Marr programme also admitted there was a problem and he said " Anti semitism is absolutely abhorrent and wrong, anyone that commits any act of anti semitism that makes any anti semetic remark is auto excluded from the party and an enquiry follows immediately. We have suspended and will suspend any member that behaves in that way . Inquiries are going on , on the cases that have been referred to us . We are absolutely resolute on this, there is no place for any type of racism of any sort with in our party and I will ensure it is rooted out where it exists, we are dealing with it."

Unless we can face the possibility that each of us could be wrong/racist/hiding our head in the sand we will not raise the quality of debate.

We are talking about this issue with Labour because it's topical, but I would be the first to say get rid of any anti-semitic and racist MP's Councillors or advisors to ANY of our political parties.No ifs or buts.

Racism is the one thing we should all unite against. The racist may start with one group but you can be certain it won't end there.

Not disputing any of that Annie but if there are councillors, MPs or party officials who do have racist attitudes they need to go. The party needs to have a clear and unequivocal line on this.
