Worried about my brother family in Brussels now. One nephew vibered me so he's okay but the rest of them????

Charleygirl Tue 22-Mar-16 08:44:14

There are casualties it would appear but it is still unfolding, we will not know the full horror for a couple of hours.

harrigran Tue 22-Mar-16 08:45:51

DD lives and works in Brussels and travels in and out of Brussels airport as her job involves flying all over the world. I am hoping she is sitting at her desk in the office today. The metro has suffered from explosions too.
DD is due to fly to UK on Thursday to spend Easter with the family.

Angharad56 Tue 22-Mar-16 08:46:19

Once again the world feels like a very dangerous place

J52 Tue 22-Mar-16 08:49:54

Wot I hope you here from them soon and they are safe.

I am near to tears, sorrow for the people involved and relief.

DS1 has been flying to Brussels about once a fortnight, on business. Today he's coming to us for lunch, so I know he's safe.

flowers (((hugs))) to anyone who is worried about loved ones.

X

Harrigran I hope you hear from your DD soon. X

Hopes and prayers for all of you and people in Brussels who are worrying about loved ones. A sad world once again.

wot Tue 22-Mar-16 08:55:38

They are my only family except one sister in Sussex. Hope everyone's loved ones are okay.

wot Tue 22-Mar-16 08:58:09

Thanks annsixty.

Alea Tue 22-Mar-16 09:05:08

flowers to all who are worried and fear for family members. Hoping you hear very soon your loved ones are safe and well.

Indinana Tue 22-Mar-16 09:06:16

Truly worrying, but after the arrest of the Paris ringleader four days ago, perhaps not entirely surprising.

My thoughts are with all of those involved, and with wot, harrigran and any other GNetters who are waiting to hear from family and friends in Belgium flowers

harrigran Tue 22-Mar-16 09:09:55

I have sent messages to DD but we have not had any communication, I am going to contact her DH to see if he knows anything as he is in UK.

obieone Tue 22-Mar-16 09:13:20

Thoughts with wot and harrigran.

Indinana Tue 22-Mar-16 09:13:29

I wonder if all telecommunications have been blocked harri?

wot Tue 22-Mar-16 09:13:30

Oh God, help us all.

Pittcity Tue 22-Mar-16 09:15:33

It's a really worrying time for family and friends, especially as everything is so chaotic.
DH has a near miss on 7/7 and I have worried every time he goes into London for work since.

harrigran Tue 22-Mar-16 09:17:48

I have just heard from DD on FB, this is the only day this week that she was not scheduled to pass through the airport, she clearly has a guardian angel. Her work colleagues are all safe too smile

Indinana Tue 22-Mar-16 09:18:42

Oh thank God, harri, you must be so relieved to hear that.

Stansgran Tue 22-Mar-16 09:34:04

Hope Felice is ok . She is in Brussels is she not?
My dd is always travelling . We've messaged her and waiting.

harrigran Tue 22-Mar-16 09:51:31

DD says that her flight to UK on Thursday will not happen and the train will be full anyway because it is Easter, it looks as if she will be stuck in Brussels with her DH in UK sad

morethan2 Tue 22-Mar-16 10:04:10

harrygran &wot You both must be sick with the worry. I hope you both hear good news soon

Luckygirl Tue 22-Mar-16 10:15:27

So sad - what a world. flowers to all those of you worrying about relatives.

annodomini Tue 22-Mar-16 10:15:38

harri, I'm so relieved for you. You can breathe again now but there must still be hundreds of people worried about friends and family. Every time this happens I re-live 7/7 when I waited for hours to be sure DS was safe in London. I wish he wasn't working there now.

wot Tue 22-Mar-16 10:21:00

All my family are safe! Thank God. I pray for all the others caught up in this nightmare.
