Very worrying.

Hope there are no further casualties but still unfolding.

I do hope all of you who have family or friends in Bussels get good news. I read about the airport bomb or whatever, but they said there was few casualties.
My brother's long term girlfriend was going to fly out to Spain today, but the flkght has been cancelled, I presume due to what happened.

My son is in Belgium but is safe, thank goodness. He'll be returning home tonight.

Thinking of all of you who have people caught up i this. Was anyone else disgusted by the photos shown on the television some of which were so awful they had to have areas blurred so the injuries weren't shown. Thinking what would it be like if it was a family member or a friend you saw?

Nana3 Tue 22-Mar-16 12:01:36

Very relieved for you wot and harri my thoughts are with all others waiting for news.

felice Tue 22-Mar-16 11:54:57

All fine here thank you for the concern, a friend of ours was just interviewed on the BBC he took the photographs of the metro train.
DD was just out and everything is calm but tense
The children are all in school and will be looked after there, it may be difficult for some parents to collect children on time today but luckily there is an after school system already in place.
My SO works next door to the Metro station, he is off work this week luckily.
Praying for the families of the dead and for the injured.

Does anyone know Felice in person and could check on Facebook for us? Without giving her identity I mean.

harrigran Tue 22-Mar-16 11:00:36

Brussels has no transport whatsoever, all trains, trams and buses have been suspended and flights redirected to other airports. This is a bustling city, it will be much quieter today.
felice are you okay ?

wot Tue 22-Mar-16 10:58:31

So pleased Harrigran x

Grannatu Tue 22-Mar-16 10:57:12

This is just so sad, my thoughts and prayers are with all affected x

harrigran Tue 22-Mar-16 10:54:58

There is a dedicated FB page where people in Brussels can declare themselves safe and well, have just seen DD on there smile

For the first time time in 10 years we have have booked our trip to Japan via Brussels. Sure security will be even greater now. It must be sickening for families with loved ones either living or passing through the city. Where next you have to wonder? We lived in the South East during IRA bombings and on more than one occasion had to evacuate Victoria Station very scary but each time it was a false alarm, thank god.

harrigran Tue 22-Mar-16 10:30:27

That should read DH not DD, you can see where my mind is this morning.

harrigran Tue 22-Mar-16 10:27:59

We have just been told that Eurostar have suspended their service, I guess DD is trapped.
I had the terror of 7/7 too anno, DD was in London and was at the tube station when they closed them. If his colleague had not delayed them he would have been on the tube.

obieone Tue 22-Mar-16 10:24:10

Great news.

wot Tue 22-Mar-16 10:21:00

All my family are safe! Thank God. I pray for all the others caught up in this nightmare.

annodomini Tue 22-Mar-16 10:15:38

harri, I'm so relieved for you. You can breathe again now but there must still be hundreds of people worried about friends and family. Every time this happens I re-live 7/7 when I waited for hours to be sure DS was safe in London. I wish he wasn't working there now.

Luckygirl Tue 22-Mar-16 10:15:27

So sad - what a world. flowers to all those of you worrying about relatives.

morethan2 Tue 22-Mar-16 10:04:10

harrygran &wot You both must be sick with the worry. I hope you both hear good news soon

harrigran Tue 22-Mar-16 09:51:31

DD says that her flight to UK on Thursday will not happen and the train will be full anyway because it is Easter, it looks as if she will be stuck in Brussels with her DH in UK sad

Stansgran Tue 22-Mar-16 09:34:04

Hope Felice is ok . She is in Brussels is she not?
My dd is always travelling . We've messaged her and waiting.

Indinana Tue 22-Mar-16 09:18:42

Oh thank God, harri, you must be so relieved to hear that.

harrigran Tue 22-Mar-16 09:17:48

I have just heard from DD on FB, this is the only day this week that she was not scheduled to pass through the airport, she clearly has a guardian angel. Her work colleagues are all safe too smile

Pittcity Tue 22-Mar-16 09:15:33

It's a really worrying time for family and friends, especially as everything is so chaotic.
DH has a near miss on 7/7 and I have worried every time he goes into London for work since.

wot Tue 22-Mar-16 09:13:30

Oh God, help us all.

Indinana Tue 22-Mar-16 09:13:29

I wonder if all telecommunications have been blocked harri?
