I come and go on Gransnet and have just returned after a break to find some really interesting topics. durhamjen is so up there with all the facts and must do such a lot of reading. She knows just how to put her finger on relevant information which is very useful to us all on here. She's evidently a driven woman - ideal for the above post. whitewave would make an admirable deputy.

Elegran Wed 13-Apr-16 12:48:59

Some of the posts are. Some are in deadly po-faced earnest.

Jalima Wed 13-Apr-16 12:50:17

To misquote John McEnroe - 'It can't be serious'
hmm

durhamjen Wed 13-Apr-16 18:07:24

Do we have anyone in charge of the NHS yet?
Sorry, haven''t been keeping a list. Has anyone else?
We definitely need a good socialist for that position.

He didn't wear a white suit in parliament, did he, Jalima?
It was just when he was out for votes, I think. I hope.

Jane10 Wed 13-Apr-16 18:20:54

I'd rather have a good organiser with a good grip on all the multitude of issues.

whitewave Wed 13-Apr-16 18:26:43

Speaking as a po-faced contributor grin I think the NHS should be removed from government control and given into independent hands. The only role for our government should be to ensure the law and rules relating to the NHS are upheld.

Ana Wed 13-Apr-16 18:27:10

If anyone' keeping a list, how sad are they?

durhamjen Wed 13-Apr-16 18:27:52

Somehow, Jane, I do not think you will be in my party, so you do not have a say.

Anyway, I doubt whether Cameron does it all himself. He has an army of advisers and secretaries.

durhamjen Wed 13-Apr-16 18:36:07

I agree with that, whitewave, but we have to have someone to make sure it does not get into the control of private hands, and to ensure that it works as intended.
At the moment I could imagine Hunt handing the whole lot over to his mate Branson, who will put all the profits into his BVI trusts.
Can't have that.
I can think of a few groups who would look after it properly for all the people.

I think I have as good a grip as anyone else on all the issues, Jane10. Otherwise I wouldn't have been suggested for PM.
You are obviously in the oppositon. Never mind.

Elegran Wed 13-Apr-16 18:48:53

I think it is time for me to resign my post as misinformation minister to spend more time with my family.

Another lighthearted and delightful thread has become yet another of the many outlets for displaying the usual brand of party politics. Saturation bombing, I think it is called.

^ I think I have as good a grip as anyone else on all the issues, Jane10. otherwise I wouldn't have been suggested for PM^

It was supposed to be a joke suggesting dj for PM not an invitation to boost ego.

Ana Wed 13-Apr-16 20:04:46

Strange how gangy5 seems to have just lit the blue touch paper and retired...hmm

durhamjen Wed 13-Apr-16 20:40:05

Did we need a misinformation minister?
Very 1984.

Jane10 Wed 13-Apr-16 20:41:31

Well someone's got delusions of grandeur and/or a sense of humour bypass!
Can't say I was surprised.

Jalima Wed 13-Apr-16 20:54:32

It was just when he was out for votes, I think. I hope.
The white suit - I would be constantly asking 'does my bum look big in this?' when out canvassing
And the opposition would be saying 'well, love, it looks big in everything tbh'

durhamjen Wed 13-Apr-16 21:11:46

That's good, Jalima. Looking at all that white could give us all headaches, and we will have enough headaches sorting out the mess we will inherit.

Jalima Wed 13-Apr-16 21:19:57

Perhaps they'll leave a note in the Treasury apologising.

That'll make it all OK.

POGS Wed 13-Apr-16 21:44:57

Sorry but this is my first post on this thread after all.

Jalima. grin

I thought it was the Meek who will inherit the earth not the narcasists. Back to the Witches Coven Thread wink

durhamjen Wed 13-Apr-16 22:42:41

Who wants to inherit the earth?
Nobody in our cabinet, I don't think.
You don't, do you, Jalima? Just look after it for others.

Jalima Thu 14-Apr-16 22:40:31

I don't think I am meek enough anyway.

Who is responsible for energy?

Weownit has just posted this well-researched article.

It's a ten year plan, but we're in for the long haul, aren't we?
