Firecracker123, I don't understand your point about Merkel and the reference to hyperbole.
Johnson always uses outrageous hyperboles and exaggeration to whip up popular appeal. Cameron didn't claim what Johnson says he did, but Johnson knew full well that people would rubbish the claim that WW3 is about to break out and would dismiss what Cameron did actually say. It's Eton/Oxford debating society stuff.
I'm not so sure about your argument, ww. I think Cameron is seen as a charlatan by an increasing number of people. Johnson has more charisma and people are more likely to hang on to what he says.
It's a shame that this is coming down to personalities, because the facts are being sidelined.
