roses, if you look at statistics- in high end business, banking and politics- those who went to Public Schools do have a massively disproportionate % of wealth, influence and power- so its not irrelevant really. I don't hold it against friends and family who have also gone to top public schools and send their children there today- but to deny the facts is not helpful.
Ye Olde Boys network is still very much alive an well in some sectors, including politics.
Bog standard comp is a bit (a lot) derogatory really.
I taught in Comprehensive schools with pride- and my DDs went to comprehensive schools either and did very well out of it too.
