I have done hours of research and if we vote stay in then Junker ect will clamp down immediately and we will have the euro which is a failing currency already plus we will have no protection against flooding the country with immigrants.

daphnedill Tue 07-Jun-16 19:20:20

Indeed!

Ana Tue 07-Jun-16 19:19:42

Sinister, eh? Blimey!

daphnedill Tue 07-Jun-16 19:18:24

It does matter, when the purpose of the links is more sinister.

Does it matter, what political Party a member of Gransnet is?It certainly has nothing to do with the great EU debate, and there are members of EVERY party leaning either this way or another.Just because Cameron is for staying in, doesn't mean all Conservatives are following his lead, and just because Corbyn has ( albeit reluctantly)
given his support to staying in, doesn't mean all Labour voters will vote that way either. Far from it.

Not joining the Euro was one of the points they agreed last Feb - along with no joining Schengen etc.

durhamjen Tue 07-Jun-16 19:06:34

So you are a Ukipper. You wouldn't be David Noakes, would you, or related to him?
Pretty nasty site, that one. The first link does not work.

where you all keep saying I do Express of course

durhamjen Tue 07-Jun-16 18:45:51

Where do you get your information from, practical?

Poland is by far the biggest recipient of EU cash, syphoning off a jaw-dropping 57.3 billion euros from Brussels coffers over a five-year period.
Russia rattled as largest exercise since Cold War with 30,000 troops begins in Poland
Two separate headlines to me means the eu is using it's cash to push Russia as much as it can

durhamjen Tue 07-Jun-16 18:24:40

You've said that before, practical. Can you give us a link to this myth about making us join the Euro?

obieone Tue 07-Jun-16 18:23:55

It is mis-leading, not to say wrong, that all economists agree JessM.
I can provide links if necessary!

BREXIT business leaders have issued a stunning riposte to David Cameron's claims that being part of the EU is good for our economy after a senior bank boss separately warned that Brussels may be plotting to force Britain to join the Euro if we vote Remain.
Top economists and entrepreneurs in the Leave camp have come together to issue a damning dossier on the Prime Minister's economic arguments, which they describe as "so full of holes" they are barely "worthwhile" making.

People working in Govt/council jobs in Ireland have actually taken three salary cuts - A further cut was on the cards but it caused so much unrest it was abandoned. We have a relative it happened to - and they pay very high medical fees.

practical Tue 07-Jun-16 18:02:47

bags, I just spotted this on Twitter: Paul Goodman talking about possible complications after a Brexit vote should it happen. Interesting.
it is interesting

Gracesgran Tue 07-Jun-16 18:00:32

No Anya, just a bit of fun.

JessM Tue 07-Jun-16 17:59:29

What to do about immigration, that seems to be bothering people but there are no answers forthcoming.
The only solution seems to me to be completely trash the UK economy and push us into a slump. Then the demand for migrant labour will dry up and the EU and other migrants will go home. It happened in Ireland recently. Economy in a dreadful state and there was a mass return to Poland, Latvia etc.
How about another banking crisis, while we are still up to our necks in debt from the last one? That might trash our tottering economy.
Ah no - there is a simple solution at hand. Vote to leave the UK. That will damage the economy for sure, as all those super-bright economists agree and the downturn might carry on turning down for years and then those pesky immigrants will go back from whence they came. And we won't even have money to pay for the foreign born staff that keep the NHS going (1 in 5 doctors from the EU just for a start)

Anya Tue 07-Jun-16 17:59:12

That's illogical GG wink

Welshwife Tue 07-Jun-16 17:58:22

That us how I perceived her post.

We did expect lots of migrants from Arab states but I think the huge numbers still surprised the Goverments. It is a world problem really but unfortunately Europe is easier to get to overland and a reasonably short sea crossing. Many of the people may never gave left their immediate environs before and therefore had little perception of the distances involved. Many of them believed Europe would welcome them and are still believing they will all get good jobs! I am in contact with a woman who actually goes to the camps in Calais and Dunkirk and sees thing first hand and talks to the people there.
Of course these camps won't really be needed anymore if we do vote out as France has said they will no longer need to help UK out by having the borders their side of the Channel. As it happens they have been relocating people - forcibly in some cases - to camps in other regions of France to take some of the pressure away from the northern coastal towns.

Gracesgran Tue 07-Jun-16 17:56:58

the people wanting to stay in are generally of the socialist persuasion and usually recieving some kind of funding from it.

sarahc446655 I certainly qualify by being left leaning (I hope that is enoughsmile) and I will vote to stay in so could you tell me where I collect my funding please?

Gracesgran Tue 07-Jun-16 17:51:32

But logical problems require lots of nits to be picked Alea - on both sides.
