Maybe just looking at the facts and weighing things up he decided now was not the time to leave and the Uk is actually far better staying in the EU - to change your mind when you are public figure actually takes courage - no one could say he has his eye on the top Labour job as he already has it!

What does he stand for?! It's hard to say, when he so vehemently stood for 'out' for so long and now apparently doesn't! I think he must feel completely confused - don't we all!!!

I haven't seen him in person either, but I have seen some of his speeches. I have also very kindly given you a link to some of them. You cannot say he is invisible and that you do not know what he is saying.
Unless, of course, you haven't looked at them. In which case, your loss, but don't complain about not knowing what he stands for.

I haven't said whether JC is or is not suitable to lead the Labour party; I've just pointed out that when push comes to political shove he is exactly the same as any other politician whatever their party credentials. He's just joined the happy band of self serving politicians that's all, otherwise why change previous deeply held views at the blink of an eye?! How can anyone now be certain that other deeply held views won't also be abandoned if it seems appropriate. The end justifying the means?! They all do it, and he's clearly no different.

There are residency rules which the UK could implement to not allow some EU migrants to remain - and it is not just those violent criminals - but they choose not to do it. It is because of a similar rule that France can elect not not to pay benefits to some EU migrants as well - they choose to implement the rule. Not their fault the UK does not do this.

What did you hope to achieve by that comment harrgran. There are statistics; it is not unreasonable (if fact I would have thought it mandatory) for an MEP to know at least those relating to their own area and to be prepared to share them. I am sure you will now say you are being bullied but if you make statements like that you really must expect them to be challenged.

granjura I have now looked this up. If a member of the EU wants to work in Switzerland for more than 3 months they have to apply for a residence permit. They have to provide valid id or passport, copy of a rental agreement, passport photo, employment contract or accounting records to prove they can earn a living. If they apply for benefits they immediately lose their right to remain in Switzerland. Residence permit will only be granted if they have sufficient finances to cover their living expenses. This is somewhat different to the free movement of people within the EU.

So what? The referendum isn't about personalities or personal opinions. It's not yet another opportunity to have a go at Corbyn or his suitablity to lead a party.

The North East IS a net benificiary of EU funding, not because your MEPs (one of whom is UKIP) tells you so, but because it's a fact. The details are on the EU accounts site.

That's because he's such a reluctant remainer almost to the point of foolishness after 30 years of vehement opposition, so keeping a very low profile is the least embarrassing position to take!!! It just proves that even someone as committed as he clearly was can change their minds if expediency requires! If he can change his opinion so easily and so quickly(!) over this, then he clearly can over anything else, so, no more trustworthy or truthful than the next politician!! Quite a disappointment really, but no surprise!!!

Corbyn is saying Ana. I am horrified that journalists are being so lazy. One was talking, I think it was on Sky News, yesterday and complaining to an "in" person that "Corbyn doesn't do interviews". The interviewee then said he was out talking to "people" and the journalist should go and see. Journalist replied "well he knows our number" - just plain lazy in my view. It is their job to find the news not expect it to come to them!

Wales is another area which has a net benefit from the EU coffers - has done for years as was/is an Option 1 area as maybe the NE is.
