The start of it all.
I feel for Port Talbot workers, it looks like the government would have stepped in to nationalise it but under eu law they are not allowed to own outright any British company. hence the sell off of our royal mail.

I've sneaked back in again just to say that I agree with anya and roses. Of course we can, or should be able to debate, question, query with anyone and everyone, but not if it disintegrates into personal insults or ridiculing someone's opinion. I'm quite happy to be persuaded or not, but not through barely disguised bullying. I think at the end of the day we all have our opinions and probably will have to agree to differ and leave it that. I've just read that apparently some voting papers have been sent to EU nationals! by mistake of course!! You really do begin to wonder!! Perhaps my nine year old grandson is in charge of this - he is very forgetful!!!

Indeed but I wish we could have more reasoned debate such as Mamie's. We all ( well most of us) would welcome that for a change.

I completely respect anyone's decision to vote how they please, but that surely does not mean that I have to agree with everything they say?
I joined this thread because I was concerned about the accuracy of the information that *Synonymous" had received and would point out that she asked for opinions. (10:15:46). I read her post, researched as far as I could and responded.
If I disagree with something someone says then I will debate it with them, but it would never constitute a personal attack.

And so it goes on and on and on.....

It is not those who want to remain that are treating others as fools. I was shocked by the totally dishonest and misleading claims of the "out" broadcast but even some outers were shocked.

Prominent supporter of Brexit, Dr Sarah Wollaston, a former GP and now chair of the House of Commons Health Select Committee, said that the Leave campaign should “stop treating the public like fools” by claiming that Brexit would free-up £350m a week to spend on the NHS.

While attacking “outlandish claims” on both sides of the EU debate, Dr Wollaston singled out Michael Gove’s warning last week over the dangers of increased immigration for the NHS.

I noticed that too roses - not all of them, there are those we recognise and respect as they offer up their alternative views in a way that is thoughtful and reasoned.

Yes Welshwife and granjura we did comment on the other EU threads but what we didn't agree to was the roodery and dismissive nature ladled onto the outers We are going along pleasantly on this thread and aren't looking for this to change.

and no I didn't want this one for myself I just knew the outers would enjoy their say without anyone making them feel they didn't belong on this planet. It looks like the out voters are not allowed free speech even though they seem to have more morals them the stay in lot. You have already got rid of one poster on here but getting rid of them posting don't mean they will alter their vote we have free will which to us is more important than your free insulting speech.

Has anyone noticed ( I have) that although we are all being polite about the Remain Camp( and why not, they have every right to their own views) They are becoming more and more unpleasant about the Leave Camp.They must be getting worried!

As someone pointed out there is no thread solely for those voting to remain and someone else pointed out that we are at liberty to post on any thread we wish.

I think it is called free speech practical.

How many times did you enquire about your MEP and vote for him or her. The turn out for MEP elections are always so so low.

Many would agree that a Democracy that elects a few to rule them, often a minority- without any proportionality of the vote with the FPP UK system - is a strange democracy. Especillay when it has another un-elected Chamber with so much influence on Laws, with much influence give to a religious group which does not reflect the current reality at all.
But it is a different story- so won't digress further.

I agree entir4ely and it is clear that the ability to change the rulers in the EU is a vastly watered down version of we here in Britain recognise as democracy.

Inevitable I'm afraid, and only a matter of time. Nice while it lasted though! As usual I'm heading for the exit door!!

but the in lot weather they live in Britain or not have come and hijacked it because they can't bear anyone having their own opinion if it's different from theirs
