I wasn't blaming Practical, DD, I had read in her post that it was Alan Sked dragging Goebbells into the equation and that she was quoting him.
Good Morning Tuesday 12th May 2026
I have done hours of research and if we vote stay in then Junker ect will clamp down immediately and we will have the euro which is a failing currency already plus we will have no protection against flooding the country with immigrants.
I wasn't blaming Practical, DD, I had read in her post that it was Alan Sked dragging Goebbells into the equation and that she was quoting him.
Did anyone see Channel4 news tonight? They interviewed some people in a UK town (not sure which one) and found people who said they were labour supporters. Then asked them whether Labour is promoting in or out? They all guessed "out", didn't know that Corbyn wants to stay in.
I suppose there's been so much made on the media about Cameron wanting to stay in, they assume Labour must be opposite.
Unless they were very selective in those interviews they chose to broadcast.
But worrying about the lack of knowledge.
@Elegran
It was Alan Sked, the founder of UKIP, who ranted about David Cameron being a Nazi. Practical's post is a copy/paste from the Daily Express.
I agree. UKIP has nothing sensible to say, so resorts to rants about Nazis.
Well done, Sherlock Trisher. You've rumbled the plot. It's elementary really when you think about it!
I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that the argument between David Cameron and Boris Johnson has in fact been manufactured to enable the conservatives to pursue a right wing agenda that the British public really wouldn't otherwise accept. That in fact what will result if the Leave campaign get their way will be the most reactionary Tory government ever who will think they have a mandate to destroy any workers' rights, cut public spending to the minimum possible and privatise anything they can. Dave and Boris will both of course continue to make huge amounts of cash in a low wage economy
Yes - why not!
Yes. Warm glow. Definitely.
And we will no doubt all wake every the morning to the joyous thought that "we have sovereignty over this glorious land of ours" - warm glow or what?
Tegan.
No Jess, you've got that all wrong. We're going to stop immigration which means there will be lots and lots of extra money and every single one of us will be able to decide what to spend it on #christmaseveryday
The Leave side have only offered pie in the sky with figures greatly exaggerated - theirs can only be 'hope to do' as there us no certainty at all.
There are several obvious problems with the implication that £360 a day is handed over and that the money coulda/woulda/shoulda be spent on the NHS.
1. they have not even knocked off the rebate - it's a downright lie to suggest that this amount is handed over.
2. the leave campaigners regularly imply that that money could be spent on a long list of other things like support for farmers or UK science (depending on the audience)
3 The leave campaign is not a political party promoting a manifesto. If there was more money to spend in the UK then it would be down to the chancellor of the day to determine the spending plans (and not, probably, a government formed by an uneasy alliance between Farage, Johnson, Gove and a couple of Labour MPs.)
possibly people voted for Cameron for many reasons, one of them being he promised the country a referendum on Europe.Which, to the credit of him and the Conservative Party they have stuck to , even though he himself wants us to stay in.
Lies is perhaps pushing it, but the Remain Group have put all sorts of doom mongering stuff that is merely speculation out there for the public to sniff at.
If a referendum with a chance of people voting to leave the EU would be so terrible, I don't think that any PM would promise it, even to heal rifts within that Party.

Whichever way this goes, the amount of hot air and general farting generated could heat half the country for six months.
This sums up the whole bunfight barney debate for me
sadly both here on GN and in RL.
perhaps a look at Cameron not liking the eu or do video's lie?

Argum e nt not argum a nt. That was the keyboard, not me.
I am reminded of that saying that comparisons with Nazis are brought into the argumant when all serious debate has run out of steam. Whichever way the writer wants us to vote!!!
Goebbels? Really? Goebbells?!?!1!? Whatever insane ranting rhetoric will be next? Satan himself, with horns, tail and red eyes, herding everyone into voting stations with his trident and forcing them to vote as he commands? Bayonnetting the babies of non-voters?? Gas chambers for those who don't comply???
Whichever way this goes, the amount of hot air and general farting generated could heat half the country for six months.
The truth of the matter is that no one has any absolute knowledge of what will happen - however some of the institutions do have an idea of possible/likely outcomes if there is an out vote. A number of companies have been saying about making plans to relocate some if not all their business to mainland Europe. - should everyone just keep quiet if that is what they are really thinking they will need to do to remain a viable business or should they say nothing and then just drop the bombshell if there is an out vote and the ensuing agreement is not good for them? Everyone then would be crying out asking why they had not said as they might well have voted differently.
It is a huge problem whichever way you look at it. When we have a general election the main parties can have a good idea of what their policies will be if they win - this time it is hard to predict as other countries will also be having a say. The Remain side should be concentrating more on the good of the EU than predicting dreadful gloom - although much if what is said could well happen.
Is that the same Alan Sked who quit UKIP saying they were further to the right than the BNP and called Nigel Farage a "dim witted racist"?
He seems to use very intemperate language to insult anyone he disagrees with and accuses them of being like Nazis. You really should not give any weight to his rants.
DAVID CAMERON is a “lunatic” whose lies to the British voters in the lead up to the historic EU referendum would make Nazi propaganda chief Joseph Goebbels proud
The Remain camp seeks to scare voters with a Big Lie technique that Joseph Goebbels himself would have been proud of
Professor Alan Sked
What I am surprised about is that so many people who happily voted for David Cameron in the last election now seem to think of him [and Osborne] as lying so and so's. If they had so little faith in him as a Prime Minister why vote for him? I can only assume that it was because they wanted Boris to be leader, although I don't remember many comments to that effect.
To Ana..... Good question!
That Was to Varian
Because of the way it's being done.... If we vote to Leave we have been promised everything bar the Gypsies curse.
