The word utilitarian was coined by the philosopher and judge Jeremy Bentham, who argued that his principle of utility would create the "greatest happiness for the greatest number of people." The noun form of utilitarian refers to a person who adheres to this philosophy of usefulness

I think it means I want everyone to be happy!

It sounds even more boring than Traditionalist - which is what I thought I would be grin

NotTooOld Sun 12-Jun-16 18:31:52

Traditionalist but I don't know how. I certainly don't read the Daily Mail!

GandTea Sun 12-Jun-16 08:10:23

I am Cosmopolitan

morethan2 Sun 12-Jun-16 07:44:55

Utilitarian. Does this mean I'm middle of the road and boring, like playing safe and not keen on taking risks. Oh well

tiggypiro Sun 12-Jun-16 05:34:42

Oh thanks Indiana I never thought of it that way ! They have got it absolutely right then as I am sturdy, well made and try to do a good job - I am even wooden at times !! A much better description than the one given.

Same for me, Badenkate. Younger than my kids.

Badenkate Sat 11-Jun-16 23:14:06

Europhile for me. Can I also adopt the average age of 43?

widgeon3 Sat 11-Jun-16 22:19:21

100% European here Followed by 100% English. Just do not like this system with its inbuilt corruption built into the treaties with no possibilities of change. We cannot integrate such disparate communities and people I would think far more of our present politicians if they did not have the opportunity of joining the European gravy train to their great advantage onece they have finished with their activities in the UK

Since I am a Cosmopolitan, I think I will mix myself a lovely cocktail this evening and then fill in my postal vote. Will Eeny Meeny Miney Mo be acceptable or shall I stick to my Cosmopolitan roots? ??

I'm Utilitarian too (plain, sturdy and wooden? grin I don't like frills, anyway)

moomin Sat 11-Jun-16 14:29:08

Anniebach Sat 11-Jun-16 14:21:02

I am a Europhile

nigglynellie Sat 11-Jun-16 14:16:03

I'm a traditionalist too, but not a eurosceptic. Is this good or bad?!!!!

Indinana Sat 11-Jun-16 14:08:47

Ah but wartime furniture was strong, well made and did a marvellous job with no fuss or unnecessary frills. Not a bad way to be, tiggy grin

tiggypiro Sat 11-Jun-16 14:04:24

I'm utilitarian - I like being different but it makes me feel like a bit of war time furniture !

Indinana Sat 11-Jun-16 13:47:02

Is that what the traditionalist result said Teetime? I didn't notice that. I might have to do it again to get away from that category then gringringrin

Teetime Sat 11-Jun-16 12:04:00

I'm a traditionalist too but I do not read the Daily Mail!!!

Indinana Sat 11-Jun-16 11:59:06
