I am no good at blueing things so would someone be very kind and do that for me?

It's Professor Michael Dougan - professor of EU and UK constitutional law. Video about the UK and the EU.

If you want the truth you have to watch this.

daphnedill Wed 22-Jun-16 01:57:15

And here's Paul Mason, who wants to leave the EU, explaining why he's voting to remain (it's only 26 seconds!):

www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WtiDzvXFM4

And an article by Mason, which has been linked before, but is worth reading:

www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/jun/20/brexit-fake-revolt-eu-working-class-culture-hijacked-help-elite

And another article, written before it all started getting dirty, explaining why those who hate the EU won't get the Europe or Britain they want:

www.opendemocracy.net/uk/denis-macshane/brexit-will-give-neither-hitchens-nor-mason-europe-they-desire

And why Owen Jones, who wrote an article arguing Leave, has changed his mind after considering the likely consequences:

www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/feb/23/labour-jeremy-corbyn-pro-eu-referendum-brexit

And, finally from me, why the Mail on Sunday urges its readers to vote Remain:

The 'open letter' from Greece is a hoax - or, at least, it's possibly a genuine letter, but is only being circulated on paranoid conspiracy websites and the handful of 'signatories' appear to be nationalist groups comparing the EU with Nazis and Axis.

I can see no logic or justification for your post of 21.30 obieone. I don't know where you are going with your "wealthy left-wingers" etc. It seems you are raising a red herring of your own invention, perhaps to deflect attention from Michael Dougan's
very clear explanation of the economic implications of "Brexit" and Elegran's extremely concise and helpful summary for anybody who cannot be bothered to concentrate for more than 6 minutes at a time.

whitewave Tue 21-Jun-16 22:22:00

elegran a big thank you it is so important

Elegran Tue 21-Jun-16 22:17:52

It is at www.gransnet.com/forums/news_and_politics/1227131-Summary-of-Professor-Micael-Dougan-on-EU-law-and-the-imminent-referendum Sorry I misspelt his name.

Almost finished posting now.

Elegran Tue 21-Jun-16 22:16:09

If you can't be bothered watching his talk, then go and read my summary of what he said - I have chopped it up into small chunks for easier reading, so if six minutes is your concentration limit you can spend just a few minutes on each item, but really it is not all that difficult.

granjura Tue 21-Jun-16 21:37:55

Oh yes, I did read it- and replied, as others did- that those 6 minutes were just the introduction and that it is the rest that is so very interesting and relevant.

obieone Tue 21-Jun-16 21:32:34

He was already on 5 threads I think it is granjura.

I also said I had watched 6 minutes of it granjura. Though you might not have been on the particular thread that was posted on!

obieone Tue 21-Jun-16 21:30:34

I have been staggered really that the left wing on the whole have sided with the wealthy and elite of the EU.

I can sort of see though that it is the wealthier people of the left wing who are doing this, not the poorer left wingers.

Which I actually think will have large scale implications for Labour at some point.
The poorer left wingers will start to defect elsewhere.

The Labour Party are not looking after the poor at this referendum at all.

I think this is part of the reason why Jeremy Corbyn has wobbles.

granjura Tue 21-Jun-16 21:26:27

Merlot, the only reason he has popped up again, is because obione said she couldn't be asked (the way I spell it) to watch it- what a helpful and hard working elegran is, thank you.

obieone Tue 21-Jun-16 21:20:05

It is worth really, you starting a thread with it.
Their words are important.

obieone Tue 21-Jun-16 21:18:56

hildajennij, what a wonderful letter.
The poor Greek people.

Warnings to us all. And they are having to live it.

merlotgran Tue 21-Jun-16 21:05:02

Starting to feel like brainwashing.

merlotgran Tue 21-Jun-16 21:04:41

How many more threads is this man going to pop up on?

Elegran Tue 21-Jun-16 20:53:24

I am not watching the Debate - I think it would just be distracting and annoying. In any case, I am fully occupied summarising Michael Dougan. Keep wanting to call him Michael Douglas.

Elegran Tue 21-Jun-16 20:51:39

Is that from ALL the Greeks, or one group of them?

hildajenniJ Tue 21-Jun-16 20:50:20

here is the open letter from Greece

Scroll down the page a bit and you'll find it, if you don't want to read all the preamble.

whitewave Tue 21-Jun-16 20:08:19

Can't read it at the moment as watching debate

Oh oh too much to do!!!!!

granjura Tue 21-Jun-16 19:44:09

stick it in the oven and come back ;)

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 21-Jun-16 19:28:16

gj I would work on it but I promised DH a rice pudding.

roastchicken

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 21-Jun-16 19:27:05

a lady prof at Cambridge seems to think we would actually drop out arms and legs flailing in all directions

Elegran Tue 21-Jun-16 19:27:00

I don't think he would satisfy obieone, jings He is not anti-EU enough

granjura Tue 21-Jun-16 19:23:15

Thanks for finding one jingl - but we would really like to know his facts and opinion re Brexit- not just that he merely exists ;) - fair enough no?

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 21-Jun-16 19:23:11

he does say it would be very difficult doing it

granjura Tue 21-Jun-16 19:21:20

LOL, how did you guess jingl ;) but I certainly was NOT a specialist in EU Law, so I was really grateful to hear him clearly stating what his experience and many years of study have taught him.

Now we are not talking about just any old Uni Prof here, but those who are Senior Profs specialist on EU Law. Please- we are waiting.
