I am no good at blueing things so would someone be very kind and do that for me?

It's Professor Michael Dougan - professor of EU and UK constitutional law. Video about the UK and the EU.

If you want the truth you have to watch this.

So where are they? If the LEGAL position is X, then who will say it is Y?

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 21-Jun-16 19:19:24

here's one though I don't know how he's voting. He looks very sweet though. Better than that other one.

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 21-Jun-16 19:16:58

Yes. I agree with obieone. There are quite likely many university professors interpreting the "facts" differently, and voting the opposite way.

"The stage is yours. Thank you (soon please)"

Teacher in previous existence? grin

granjura Tue 21-Jun-16 19:10:23

No, no obione- you said there would be 1000s- and I am challenging to find a reliable link with commentary as to why, to JUST ONE, a measly ONE.

'Bearing in mind that remain/Brexit is 50/50, and teachers are probably more remain than OUT, I would put the estimate as 30% on the OUT side.
I will leave it up to you granjura, to complete the maths equation on this.'

so it's not up to me, or any of us to do the maths here- it's upto you to find ONE. Now we are not talking about mere teachers here, but Senior Professors specialist in EU LAW.

The stage is yours. Thank you (soon please).

We aren't going until September haven't thought about it yet

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 21-Jun-16 18:59:57

(I bought some Monday. I hope I wasn't too soon)

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 21-Jun-16 18:58:48

Not necessarily. The bit I read said the pound would probably only go down for a few days. Or it could even be the euro that goes down. Us exiting would upset the EU economy.

'alf and 'alf. grin

whitewave Tue 21-Jun-16 18:56:29

Oh jing sterling is going up you need to buy them before Friday if its Brexit you'll loose a load!!!!

obieone Tue 21-Jun-16 18:55:41

granjura, there are law professors in, as afar as I know, every university in this country. Not to mention those in Europe.
And law professors do talks and presentations all the time.

Bearing in mind that remain/Brexit is 50/50, and teachers are probably more remain than OUT, I would put the estimate as 30% on the OUT side.
I will leave it up to you granjura, to complete the maths equation on this.

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 21-Jun-16 18:53:45

Have we all bought half our euros? Only half mind you. The rest needs to wait till Friday. hmm

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 21-Jun-16 18:52:54

It's quite possible that even the dreaded Brexit might only be a disaster for a little while. shock (why am I even saying that?!)

whitewave Tue 21-Jun-16 18:50:40

Lies from Howard about the EU and the sovereignty whoa! What porkies. You've been rumbled Howard. We know the true facts

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 21-Jun-16 18:50:39

Facts can be put across in many ways ww. He was obviously doing his bit for the Remain camp. And why not? smile

granjura Tue 21-Jun-16 18:47:18

As Soon as you can (be)

whitewave Tue 21-Jun-16 18:46:58

Honestly obieone grin you live a world of your own

granjura Tue 21-Jun-16 18:45:53

Well obione, I challenge you to find a handful- even one.

Up to you- we are waiting with anticipation.

whitewave Tue 21-Jun-16 18:45:27

Germany will be the biggest power in the EU, there will be nothing to balance that power.

obieone Tue 21-Jun-16 18:43:39

Quite jingl. 1000's I should think.

whitewave Tue 21-Jun-16 18:42:59

Fair enough lucky We can only go by what we know. But this absolutely crystallized it for me.

Staying in and fighting for reform is as far as I am concerned the only choice.

The EU will not be prepared to give us any concessions. They will go for a quick divorce with little appetite to give us any special concessions

Luckygirl Tue 21-Jun-16 18:35:24

whitewave - not only did I listen to every word of the link a few days ago, but I also sent it to my brother, you will be delighted to hear. Not because I wanted to encourage him to vote remain (nothing - absolutely nothing would persuade him to do that!), but because I thought is was a good deal more measured than a lot of the hot air we have heard.

The problem with providing suitable stats for the out side is that no-one has done it before so no-one fully knows what the UK might look like under that scenario. But it feels a bit weak to just vote in on the grounds of better the devil you know. It is still a devil.

whitewave Tue 21-Jun-16 18:18:55

No jing he wasnt arguing he was giving a law lecture. It was objective factual and based on evidence. You could use it in an exam.

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 21-Jun-16 18:15:39

I wonder how many law professors could be rustled up to put over the same lecture but for the other side. It's all in the preentation perhaps? grin

Don't get me wrong! I'm in 'is camp.

obieone Tue 21-Jun-16 18:15:13

comstitutional law is about the things we have been discussing for the last 3 or 4 months, or longer.

Which aspect?

obieone Tue 21-Jun-16 18:13:11

yes please hilda
