I think I'm going for 'Remain' but I'm still not definite.confused

Democracy is the will of the majority, everyone is entitled to a vote regardless of their IQ, education level, income, social standing or political leanings.

We live in a democracy.

MamaCaz I could have written your post word for word. I was torn until the last minute and then decided we had to stay and try and get reforms from the inside. Now I feel as if the ground is shifting under me and I don't like it at all.

Can't remember who said it, but if undecided, toss a coin. If you feel disappointed at the result, go the other way. It sounds like you did that in a metaphorical way, MamaCaz.

I wonder how many of those who voted brexit woke up this morning and thought 'Oh no. What have I done?!'

merlotgran Fri 24-Jun-16 16:17:59

Not me!

Jalima Fri 24-Jun-16 16:17:59

hmm why would they?
They voted how they wanted to vote so must be pleased with the result.
Those who did not bother to go and vote are perhaps thinking 'Oh no, perhaps I should have made the effort'.

I've met several people who voted brexit 'for a laugh' because they didn't seriously think they stood a chance. They ain't laughing now. That's why I posted my last comment.

Jalima Fri 24-Jun-16 16:30:05

shock
I don't know anyone who hadn't thought about it long and hard
(however, views of friends and family are not reflected in the result).

merlotgran Fri 24-Jun-16 16:58:18

What would be the point of voting Brexit for a laugh? Nobody's going to know unless you tell them and if you seriously didn't think Brexit stood a chance, all the more reason to vote for Remain.

Nowt so queer.

Jane10 Fri 24-Jun-16 17:10:13

They were very young and only talked about it once it was a fait accomplit. They're pretty sheepish today!

whitewave Fri 24-Jun-16 17:14:11

Yes there were some who said they voted Brexit for a laugh, and had no inkling they would get in. All of them said they should have remain. What a dogs dinner.

Why is this thread still up?

wot Fri 24-Jun-16 18:31:26

On discussions of the day?

Jalima Fri 24-Jun-16 18:33:50

discussions of the day are often out of date, and I suppose people are still posting up-to-date thoughts on it.
