Only a few months and there will be a new PM, who?

Anniebach Tue 05-Jul-16 22:52:37

Jalima, I meant British undesirables go to other countries,,think of Spain and thieves, and Thailand for perverts

durhamjen Tue 05-Jul-16 22:59:26

I wonder what will happen to Europol and the EAW.

suzied Wed 06-Jul-16 06:06:33

I wonder if Andrea Whatsit will publish her tax returns

whitewave Wed 06-Jul-16 06:56:43

The more I see of her the less suitable I think her for the PM. As she continually reminds us -although I am unclear what difference it makes- she is a mother. Odd.

AlgeswifeVal Wed 06-Jul-16 07:49:37

Must not be Teresa May. I read on Facebook she is in favour of Sharia law. I agree you can't believe all you read on Facebook.

AlgeswifeVal Wed 06-Jul-16 07:52:54

It's got to be Andrea Leadsom.

daphnedill Wed 06-Jul-16 07:55:06

She also claims to be an expert on babies.

durhamjen Wed 06-Jul-16 07:56:22

The reason Andrea Leadsom reminds us she is a mother is because Theresa May isn't.

Sharia teaching is being “misused” and “exploited” to discriminate against Muslim women, the Home Secretary, Theresa May, has claimed, as she unveiled plans for an independent inquiry into the issue.

But she insisted that many British people “benefit a great deal” from the guidance offered by Sharia teaching and other religious codes.

It has often been remarked on how similar Muslims and Jews are in many of their traditions, such as food laws, burial rites and language, and this case could prove no exception. Jewish courts are in daily use in Britain, and have been for centuries.

British Jews, particularly the orthodox, will frequently turn to their own religious courts, the Beth Din, to resolve civil disputes, covering issues as diverse as business and divorce.

Religious 'courts' don't override British law, but are used as a way of dealing with a limited number of disputes.

I think it says a lot about a WOMEN who's in favor of SHARIA LAW !!! shock

Riverwalk Wed 06-Jul-16 08:18:15

The future of the UK being decided by such a blunt instrument as a referendum and its close result, is one thing; having the next PM who will take us through Brexit decided by the 200,000(?) members of the Tory Party is alarming!

daphnedill Wed 06-Jul-16 08:19:54

Which women, Gononsuch?

Seems like Andrea lied on her C.V.

daphnedill Wed 06-Jul-16 08:35:22

Aha! I wondered when somebody would do some digging into her background. There was somebody on Twitter a couple of days ago saying that she had never had any hands on experience at Invesco. Treasury officials have also said that she didn't seem to understand paperwork she was given, which sounded a bit strange. There have also been other claims that she has only had experience of babies as a trustee of a charity. Hmmm...

obieone Wed 06-Jul-16 13:37:46

I still want Leadsom. Not much choice though.

daphnedill Wed 06-Jul-16 13:50:14

So you don't mind having a liar as PM?

obieone Wed 06-Jul-16 13:55:19

Of course I do.
None of the other two are liars?

daphnedill Wed 06-Jul-16 14:25:34

Not the extent that she is!

She has based her case on having financial experience, which she doesn't have. She lied about having management experience and handling billions of pounds of investments - she didn't. Her brother-in-law has donated over £800,000 to the Conservative Party. She has a dodgy (but legal) buy-to-let business and lied about being Managing Director of her brother-in-law's firm. She has gone on and on about being a mother and caring about babies and the charity she set up, but news about that is beginning to trickle through and it seems she's been telling a couple of porkies about her involvement too. She wants to abolish maternity rights for mothers in small firms and once advised hard-up mothers to buy car seats from charity shops, although the government's advice is not to buy second hand car seats. All seems a tad hypocritical!

obieone Wed 06-Jul-16 14:35:07

To match it up - what are Theresa May's lies and dodgy stuff?
[I dont think we need to list Michael's Gove's!]

daphnedill Wed 06-Jul-16 14:44:08

I'd rather have the devil I know.

Anyway, she believes in the same kind of stuff about babies' brains as Camila Batmanghelidjh - or,at least, that's what she's been going on about. Whether or not she actually understands it is questionable, but is widely thought to be hocus pocus.

She's homophobic, is critical and unsupportive of single mothers and wants to cut 'red tape' for banks and doesn't think bankers should have their bonuses cut. She's also against renewable energy.

daphnedill Wed 06-Jul-16 14:52:54

This is the baby brain theory Leadsom supports...

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/11806249/Kids-Company-recruited-troubled-teenagers-for-brain-scans.html

Apparently she bored the pants off the selection committee with it.

obieone Wed 06-Jul-16 15:00:29

And Theresa May?

DaphneBroon Wed 06-Jul-16 15:25:50

Must not be Teresa May. I read on Facebook she is in favour of Sharia law. I agree you can't believe all you read on Facebook

Your second sentence says it all.
Could you elaborate on the first or is it a Chinese Whisper? .

daphnedill Wed 06-Jul-16 15:31:14

Leadsom's edit history on Wiki for the last two days is interesting. grin

Has May lied about her career history?
