I think it will be interesting to track what the result of the vote brings us. Good or bad.

Friday 24 th June

Result out.

France wants to renegotiate the Le Touquet agreement

£ has the biggest drop since 1985

Mark Carney moved to try to steady the markets

Scottish first minister suggested that they are highly likely to go for a second referendum

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 24-Jun-16 21:34:56

Odd that. They've done well out of EU spending. Probably down to lack of decent education amongst the Welsh masses.

Ana Fri 24-Jun-16 21:36:53

Ooh..*jingl*! grin

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 24-Jun-16 21:37:54

grin

Anniebach Fri 24-Jun-16 21:39:10

Oh sorry Ana, didn't think you were doing the ' we are the biggest country of the UK so we are in charge ' stand . Oh you big boys love playing what is classed bullying in the playground

Wales has received Money from the EU because it is the poorest country in the UK.

Some of Wales voted to leave not all of Wales. South Wales knows much poverty and there is no hope

Anniebach Fri 24-Jun-16 21:40:52

Jingle, what a vile thing to say, never thought you would or could sink to those depths , shame on you

Ana Fri 24-Jun-16 21:42:46

Oh sorry Ana, didn't think you were doing the ' we are the biggest country of the UK so we are in charge ' stand . Oh you big boys love playing what is classed bullying in the playground

No idea what that's supposed to mean, Annie, but it's nasty and unjustified.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 24-Jun-16 21:44:08

It's a known fact that education is in a sorry state in Wales. A fact.

Anniebach Fri 24-Jun-16 21:49:09

Also a fact - all who voted in Wales were 18 and over, they were educated under English rule

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 24-Jun-16 21:54:47

What's that got to do with the price of fish?

WilmaKnickersfit Fri 24-Jun-16 21:57:21

Ceesnan just to make it crystal clear, Scotland gets no money from England.

Welshwife Fri 24-Jun-16 21:58:32

Wales does have control of its Education - all children learn Welsh till at least 16. Most of the curriculum is the same as England. Some schools are much better than others just as some areas are much poorer than others - particularly where the pits were - many in a valley which goes nowhere. These places are difficult to attract business to - therefore great swathes of unemployment. Many of these valleys are now all beautiful and green again but people have to travel poor toads to get anywhere for employment. Difficult lives and not their fault - many cannot move away to other areas. This is why they received EU funding - I am both very sad and surprised that these people voted to leave the EU - they more than many areas really need this money to improve their lives.

Welshwife Fri 24-Jun-16 22:02:18

Where does it get it then Wilma - has the Barnett formula ceased to exist?

Anniebach Fri 24-Jun-16 22:25:45

Thank you Welshwife. I shouldn't allow myself to be upset by the few little englanders here.

We don't pay tax, vat etc in Wales it seems

Welshwife Fri 24-Jun-16 22:32:59

Cwtch -* Annie*

Anniebach Fri 24-Jun-16 22:34:18

Needed Welshwife , needed very much, thank you.

gettingonabit Fri 24-Jun-16 22:34:27

I can't get over Wales. I just can't make sense of it. Why the heck did those areas that have been so dependent on EU funding voting to leave? These are some of the poorest areas in the UK.

Carwyn Jones now desperately seeking a review of Batmett formula. He clearly didn't see this coming either. sad.

Anniebach Fri 24-Jun-16 22:37:58

Jingle, I thought your reference to lacking an education jibe was aimed at those old enough to vote, didn't occur to me you were mocking our children and grandchildren , would it occur to anyone

durhamjen Fri 24-Jun-16 22:39:24

www.thelocal.dk/20160616/brexit-denmark-wont-follow-uk-out-of-eu

Denmark does not want to follow the UK.

Same as the North East, gettingonabit. They couldn't have it any worse, so went for a change. That's what they thought, anyway.

Welshwife Fri 24-Jun-16 22:40:51

I think just a few words cover the reasons - immigrants - jobs and control. All rubbish really. My personal opinion is that many people are confused about immigrants - they are doing jobs the Nationals will not stick at. Anyone in country areas finds employment difficult and there are misconceptions about control. The farmers who also do well from the EU also wanted to leave - they were persuaded they will still get the same money - has it been admitted yet that this too was a lie?

Welshwife Fri 24-Jun-16 22:42:57

Trouble is Jen it sadly will probably get worse. How were they all so easily hoodwinked though?

Anniebach Fri 24-Jun-16 22:46:19

I saw it coming from the farmers but not the valleys yet I know there is much anger that again they been let down, iron works, coal mines , Steel works . Nothing left for them . Still England feeds and clothes us as they do Scotland

Anniebach Fri 24-Jun-16 22:48:51

The affluent areas of Wales voted to remain, Cardiff and Monmouth

gettingonabit Fri 24-Jun-16 22:56:06

I think it must all come down to distrust in politicians. Wales doesn't have a particular issue with immigration (not like some parts of England) and sovereignty isn't really an issue either.

A very strange result indeed.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 24-Jun-16 22:56:34

God! You can twist things ab. grin

Anniebach Fri 24-Jun-16 23:06:21

Wales has always welcomed immigrants, unlike England, it was wrong for Cameron to choose June for the referendum, we were fighting our own election untill May, didn't give the politicians very long to get going on the referendum campaign ,yet in May labour lost only one seat which was good taking into account the problems here
