Whereas a victory for democracy is greeted with sneers, insults and any other derogatory terminology. Why can you not just accept it and move on?
If the remain side had won I would have called it a victory for sanity.
Gove!
Tegan would you be calling the referendum ridiculous if the remain side had won?
Well let's hope- He- the only expert in the world -Give doesn't get in then as opinion has it that he would try to fight 3 wars at once as co sidered very hawkish. What a conceited little man he is.
There is more to being part of Europe than being in the EU.
Roger Boyes argues that Britain is NATO's main strength after the US and as such—especially as the leader of the Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (yes, really!) that is supposed to deter Putin from more imperialistic land grabs in the Baltic states—and in spite of Brexit, we are not in retreat from the continent where its defence is concerned.
Instead of the posters and soundbites that we were bombarded with, shouldn't the voters have been given boring facts and figures regarding what remaining or leaving would mean? We seem to be watching with horror that someone like Trump could become President of the USA and don't seem to realise how ridiculous this referendum has been.

Shame they never thought of that a couple of weeks ago. Let's just hope there is a second referendum.

Cop out, Granny2016. You voted to leave, but you hope someone else makes the decision? There is no correct parliamentary decision. It hasn't happened before, nobody knows what correct is.
Negative equity on the way because of voting to leave.
@ I voted to leave and would do so again, however I acknowledge that the vote was advisory and hope that any decision to leave is taken after following the correct parliamentary procedure.
I expect there are other leave voters who feel the same.
I would be extremely disappointed to remain in the EU as I have been longing to leave for many years, but at the current time,am more concerned at the dreadful behaviour of our elected politicians ,both prior and post referendum.
I am not sure they are capable of making a satisfactory transition.
The 250 new jobs announced by Jaguar Landrover today will benefit working people in Coventry
Obviously no panic in the West Midlands, just new investment
Agreed, Acton. That's exactly what will happen - and is already happening. That's why so many hedge fund managers were keen to support and finance Leave. It was always going to happen that the 'little' people would be the biggest losers.
The UK needs thousands of administrators, lawyers and accountants for BREXIT negotiations. They don't come cheap and we just don't have the people with experience, so private firms and former EU administrators will be brought in, which will keep them busy for at least a decade or so.
Arron Banks, who is tipped as the next leader of Ukip, is on record as saying that the 'little' people of the North East are a 'market opportunity'.
What did you expect acton?
So in the Brexit negotiations the private sector financial consultants will win big and the British people lose.
Who voted out to get away from the elite?

It's going to cost us a lot.

Guy Verhofstadt. liberals and Democrats.Answering UK's Syed Kamell, after giving him a right old 'what for'.
Something like 'Only a woman is going to get you out of this mess'
"Either the Union must change or it will die" but he wants more federal Europe.
Gabriel Zimmmer German Left.
Basically said we (UK ) are children. Then on to say people are fed up with European Union. Stop children being the sacrificial lamb to the EU , give them more money.
Rebecca Harms. European Greens.
Take into account what UK wants , our door has to remain open with those who voted remain such as Nicola Sturgeon. London is a city for rich people, we need to have a response to the people out in the cold. We need binding social contracts throughout the EU. The little people are used for rebel rousing.
Questioned by UK MEP. You are appearing to contradict yourself , the EU is run by the elite that you chastise but want to keep in it , sort of question.
Paul Nuttall UKIP
The British people have spoken. I want some fair negotiations for both the UK and the EU. I am not here to gloat, we should put away the language of conflict. We would like to see a fair trade deal with the EU blame blame blame . The last thing we all want is for tariffs to be put on our trade deals it will hurt everyone .
Are you aware hate crimes have risen in UK What about those Europeans living in the UK when will they have to leave.
Paul Nuttall
Police looking at hate crimes. We should have no hate crimes ' throughout Europe ' he went on to mention Vienna Convention.
Le Pen French Right.
I told the French to look at how the EU parliament reacts to tell you how the EU works. Look at Switzerland EU as a good way to react to the EU but you don't want to do that, you want more EU. Either you change or the EU dies.
Bruno Golinisch French Non Attatched.
Most EU leaders are not listening, you want more forced integration. The UK has been threatened with intimidation , you want more integration .
Herbert Reul German Centre Right
The way people have spoken here today makes me throw my arms up in despair. We need to do our job, we cannot carry on as we are. We need to be saying not more Europe. What has Brexit got to do with youth unemployment went in Spain now.
Richard Corbett UK Labour.
I will be sad if we leave the EU. Britain is in political termoil, the £1 dropped, AAA status dropped, a petition, companies leaving Britain. People want to reconsider. Why has government not exercised Article 50, because it can't. Leave supporters will say this is not what we wanted this is not over.
Ryszard Czarnecki Polish Conservative
I would like to ask everyone to use language of respect. Let us not scold leavers. If the EU changes in the way Mr. Ver Herhofstadt wants the EU will die.
Catherine Bearded UK libs
I am heart broken, we ran on lies, EU we will miss you. Abpnswering a question everybody has run away.
Barbers Spinell Italian left.
This has not come out of the blue. We need to ensure more sovereignty, we need to take action quickly, we should not turn a deaf ear to what has happened .
Ian Hudghton. SNP
UK in a mess, built on lies. My country was clear got to remain in the EU. Negative results in England failings by UK government. Nicola Sturgeon working to stay in EU.
It's on free view 131 live but you get the gyst.

This article explained some of the odd events of the past week --- makes me even sadder for the UK.
Oh thank you
ww, I don't think The Times is supporting a particular candidate. There are articles by various people in support of and critical of all the candidates in approximately equal proportion. I've got the impression that there are front runners and back runners, so to speak, but I didn't need to read opinions and leading articles in the Times to find that out.
Perhaps a 'bias' will emerge after today's vote, but I'm not expecting anything in particular. Perhaps that's because of my own open-mindedness and admission of ignorance. Who knows? So far I favour either Gove or May but since I don't have a vote in the matter that's irrelevant. And it may change as I become better informed.
As Mamie says the UK Govt cannot say what the EU countries will do about the UK citizens living in their countries and obviously it will need to be a reciprocal agreement. The conditions of this agreement will need to be that things in place with regards to health care etc remain the same as changes with these things will impact greatly on people's lives and in many cases will need them to relocate back to their country of origin.
