Being blamed

I can honestly say that in making vote my only consideration was for the future of my children and grandchildren which meant I voted against my own concerns. Anybody else insulted by the blame our generation are getting for the result of the vote?

Smileless2012 Mon 27-Jun-16 21:18:44

Don't worry Jane I'm sure I'll be able to cope.

whitewave Mon 27-Jun-16 21:22:29

Democracy is a process smile as I am sure you understand. So boredom at this process seems a tad odd.

rosesarered Mon 27-Jun-16 21:28:31

Wonder if Tom Watson actually voted, or was he sat in his tent with a spliff or two saying Peace and Love and ( on the mobile to Corbyn) saying 'chillax Jez'.We shall never know.

rosesarered Mon 27-Jun-16 21:29:43

Boredom means.....being sick to the back teeth of all the negativity.

Smileless2012 Mon 27-Jun-16 21:30:18

Oh no, it's not the process that bores me whitewave it's the nastiness from those who wanted to stay toward those wanted to leave that bores me.

The decisions been made, what's the point of going on about it, we must look to the future and not keep harping on about what's been done.

rosesarered Mon 27-Jun-16 21:32:29

Blame the Tories, blame the older people, blame anyone ( millions of them) that voted Leave, on and on and on like the Duracell Bunny.

durhamjen Mon 27-Jun-16 21:33:01

He didn't go until after the vote, roses. That's just trying to stir it.

durhamjen Mon 27-Jun-16 21:35:58

It's not those who wanted to stay who are writing racist comments on facebook and twitter, Smileless. They are not the ones who are putting placards on school doorsteps so young kids can see them when they arrive at school in the morning.

Have you managed to miss all that?

rosesarered Mon 27-Jun-16 21:39:48

Spoilsport djen...... Someone may have believed my scenario.

whitewave Mon 27-Jun-16 21:39:48

Anyone see the English football fans on 4?
There is absolutely no doubt that this referendum has encouraged their behaviour. It may me ashamed to be British

granjura Mon 27-Jun-16 21:39:59

indeed dj- hard to miss, that- tragically

whitewave Mon 27-Jun-16 21:43:14

England are losing - good - bring back all the thugs and sort them out

durhamjen Mon 27-Jun-16 21:52:08

Are you pleased now, whitewave?
I hope a lot of thugs get kept over there for a few months in jail.

whitewave Mon 27-Jun-16 21:58:13

Don't see why the French should have to pay for them. Did you see what they were saying to some gipsy children, and a Jewish person?

Tegan Mon 27-Jun-16 21:59:16

Couldn't believe that news report white wave; those fans were a disgrace. I think anyone who denies the amount of racism in this country needs to see it.

Smileless2012 Mon 27-Jun-16 22:29:47

The comments I am referring too are the ones I've seen on this thread durhamjen. I'm not blind to the racism that exits in this country, it's wrong but it's also wrong to make disparaging remarks about those who opted to leave the EU.

Granny2016 Mon 27-Jun-16 22:45:57

Many who voted to leave, did so based on the state of the EU at this current time and foreseeable future.
In the past 10 years there have been several changes/demands that have affected us negatively, including the Lisbon Treaty.
We have no idea how the EU will be in 10 or 20 years time, and therefore cannot assume that our young people will be satisfied living as a part of it.

It may change for the better.
Due to the UK vote , there have been comments from leading politicians in the EU this week stating that the EU in his current form may no longer be entirely appropriate for today, and that changes need to be made in order to make it more desirable.
Our young may or may not be part of it...that will depend how things are decided over the next two years.

As an out voter, based mostly on proposed expansion /integration plans,I am very surprised that the vote is not being made void.
The campaign on both sides was appalling, but the leave spin and its big red bus was breathtaking.
From their reaction,I can only assume that they had an alternative agenda .

God forbid we have PM Johnson fighting our corner with Juncker,we shall all be in sack cloth.

Granny2016 Mon 27-Jun-16 22:52:46

I will clarify that by integration,I am not referring to immigration, but to a much larger EU.

durhamjen Mon 27-Jun-16 22:53:21

Johnson will not be fighting our corner with Juncker. Things stay as they are, There are no more concessions to be had.
Whoever is PM either gives article 50 to the EU or doesn't. All the negotiation is on the EU side. Just about when we leave. That's all.

Anyway, you voted for Johnson.

Tegan Mon 27-Jun-16 23:01:22

Did you not assume Johnson would be PM when you voted leave?

Welshwife Mon 27-Jun-16 23:13:09

Before the referendum actually took place Juncker did say that they realised the EU needed some changes made and this would be discussed and decided upon. It was reported in the press etc but no-one took any notice and like all else from experts many people dismissed his comments. Sadly what is now likely to happen is exactly how European politicians said it would - Macron a French Minister, said that to get a trade deal the UK would need to accept migration and pay fees but of course it was thought that they were just trying to help Cameron out and it was not true.

A fine mess we have ended up with.

I have to say that despite what is happening around us with everything seeming to be falling round our ears many of you ladies who voted Leave seem to be remarkably upbeat that it will all work out for the best!

durhamjen Mon 27-Jun-16 23:22:34

But we've got to stop moaning and go along with them because they won, Welshwife.
They obviously have no idea what the prize was, if some of them even don't know that Johnson is to be PM.
The Express says 80% want him. Hope that's 80% of Express readers, rather than 80% of Tories who have a vote.

Granny2016 Mon 27-Jun-16 23:38:35

How dare you Durhamjen !!!!

My vote was decided immediately I knew that we were to be offered a referendum on the EU .It had nothing at all to do with anyone who decided to put themselves forward as the campaign face.
I found the 3 stooges a complete embarassment.

Are you really so naive to suppose people were voting for Boris Johnson?

Tegan....Did I miss something????
During the campaign ,Cameron maintained that he would remain as PM and
whatever the outcome,he would continue in his role after the vote.
Why on earth would I have considered Johnson as PM when we already had one????

Politicians will vote for the next PM ,not the electorate, and as I understand it,there are several names being put forward.
Hope THEY don,t pick Boris.

Beammeupscottie Tue 28-Jun-16 00:04:03

Bored! My God, people on this forum are genuinely upset by the Ref. result and it is being reduced to the dismissive state of "Boring", Well I shall go on and on and on as long as I like.

daphnedill Tue 28-Jun-16 00:08:09
