Amanda Spielman has been a disaster at Ofqual. The problem wasn't lack of passion, but lack of knowledge about schools. A committee of MPs rejected her appointment, but Nicky Morgan has insisted that she becomes the next Head of Ofsted.

But she would need passion for Brexit. Not good if you ask me.

I think that passion can lead us astray and make us over zealous at times but passion can also fire us up and make us fight for what we truly believe in.

I don't agree that it's over-rated, but do see the need to exercise control (she says not always managing to control her ownblush).

According to this article Theresa May is not passionate about stuff and neither is Amanda Spielman but they are both people who get their heads down, give attention to important (and often dull) details, and get on with a job. By Rosemary Bennett.
